Run Little Man Run (Song)

When I was but a small lad, I lived in the forest with dad, A carefree life is one that we had, But that was before things went bad,     They came and came, walked through the flame, Their skin glowed to unsettle, Father pushed me away, and spoke with words of dismay, Words I remember to this day,     Run Run Run little man, Run as fast as you can Troubles a brewin, Nothin worth doin, Best get out while you still can,     Years passed the boy made a man, Living life without a plan, A life of work day to day, Without a place to stay,     Then from the gates a shout to be heard, Horses raced as they were spurred, Men of mettel, slayed by men of metal, as shouts of retreat were heard,     Run Run Run little man, Run as fast as you can, Troubles a brewin, Nothin worth doin, Best get out while you still can,     Years passed and I traveled, Helping lives unraveled, By the forces that marched the land, Doing what one man can,   Then I saw down the canyon road, Metal men strode, Making their way to another's dismay, Only one thing in their way,   In the road, stood someone bold, A girl with hair a gold She turned her gaze, her eyes ablaze, And told me words I have heard,   Run Run Run little man. Run as fast as you can. Troubles a brewin, Nothin worth doin, Best get out while you still can.     and in words of my own, with feelings unknown, I spoke these words to atone,   Nay Nay Nay I say, I shant go run again, This time I'll Stand, See my journey's end, If it should be that way,   With eyes aglow the girl smiled, Fire in hand grew wild, Together we sprang, as we sang, The Words I once reviled,   Run Run Run metal men, Run as fast as you can, We're not afraid, You've come to be slayed, Best get out while you still can,

A well known song which tells of a young man, usually portrayed as a halfing or dwarf, struggling in life as trouble seems to follow him throughout life. Eventually he turns to faces his problems, not satisfied with ignoring them any longer. It was thought to be written after the Fall of Overdale and the clockwork constructs subsequent attacks on nearby settlements and towns. Though thought to be true in some respect, with the amount of chaos surrounding the Fall of Overdale the writer and inspiring events have been lost to time.
