Warden (Anti-Planar Defence Trust)

A Warden is the highest rank in the Anti-Planar Defence Trust (APDT). They are second to no-one, but each is monitored and kept in check by the other twelve that make up the Ring of Wardens.

Requirements

To become a warden, one needs to have at least 15 years field experience and have participated in a significant way to preventing or averting a THREAT LEVEL: PORTCULLIS or higher planar scenario.

Appointment

When a Warden is replaced in the Ring, the other twelve wardens convene in a committee to assess the applicant's portfolio. Such a decision can take months, but once appointed, the decision cannot be reversed unless the Warden himself steps down, or the other twelve initiate the exit protocols.

Duties

Each Warden on the Ring is in charge of a separate branch of anti-planar operations:
  • Warden One: Organisational Affairs
  • Warden Two: Intelligence
  • Warden Three: Operations
  • Warden Four: Research and Development
  • Warden Five: Logistics
  • Warden Six: Production and Manufacturing
  • Warden Seven: Sapient Assets
  • Warden Eight: Overwatch and Monitoring
  • Warden Nine: Diplomatic Liason
  • Warden Ten: Communications
  • Warden Eleven: Archives
  • Warden Twelve: Containment
  • Warden Thirteen: The Black Dossier (Covert Operations)

Responsibilities

A Warden is responsible for the entire branch of the organisation under his command, and is also ultimately responsible for the actions and decisions made by those under his command. A Warden often works with other Wardens on the Ring to coordinate resources and redirect them to where they are most needed.

Accoutrements & Equipment

All wardens wear a silver magitech bracelet around their wrist, with their Warden numeral inscribed on the surface. It acts as both an identifier and a planar ward.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Any Warden on the Ring can initiate PROTOCOL: SOFA CUSHION, which motions the Ring committee to have any Warden, including him- or herself, removed from the Ring. If all other Wardens agree unanimously, the Warden is removed from the Ring.
