Queen Estrid Svendsdatter

She is the first woman Syres falls in love with since his family was sacrificed and he was turned immortal. There is something about Estrid that he sees, it is both similar and opposite to his former wife. He falls hard for her and she for him and they are both amorous, but Estrid is in charge of this relationship. Syres doesn't mind her being assertive and in charge as she is a smart, cunning, and frank Princess. They fall in love in England and then he stays with her for over 20 years in Denmark looking over their son.
Obviously, no one knows that Sweyn is Syres' son but when Estrid's husband is executed for treason, they take up together without judgment. She is a pale-haired, green-eyed Danish princess, tall and talented in many respects. She knows Danish, Finnish, Norweigan, Anglish, French, and is learning Latin. She also knows how to hunt, ride, skin animals, cook, and garden. She is always curious and is constantly learning and questioning things. She is also cunning and severe, something Syres finds sexually attractive.
She surprises Syres more than once in a hot spring, a temple, behind a tree, in a cave, or on a ship with her very healthy sex drive. She is disappointed that she cannot have more children but she and Syres have a total of two boys, Sweyn and Beorn, and five girls, all of whom are as independent and as cunning as their mother. Syres is happy here and Estrid is as well, even though her sons are faced with Sea King enemies, Norweigian Kings, and the loss of the Dane-lands in Brittain.
