Lorg

Before the rise of the Numerian Empire, Lorg was a densely forested swampland with pockets of arable land and wetland settlements. A feature unique to Lorg is the large network of natural tunnels beneath it that lead to a place its people call The Underdark. Today it is very much the same, but its swamps are marked by countless scars of burnt and ashen land. Lorg has been the pit into which hundreds and thousands of orc and goblin lives have been thrown for the past millennia, and Lorg has made those bodies its strength.   Lorg’s primary source of labor is the innumerable undead that live in and below Lorg. Its mines, farms, and fortresses are all manned by undead orcs and goblins, and its swamps teem with various undead creatures directed by their masters to capture or kill any living creature that has not been permitted entry by the Corpse Lords. Some even claim that an undead Behir has been created by the nation, and they use its keen senses to warn in great advance of a Draconic incursion.   Lorg is ruled by a council of necromancers called the Corpse Lords. These individuals oversee the use of necromancy throughout the nation and manage the nation’s formidable undead military. Their most powerful institution is the NecroArcanum, a university of necromancy hidden somewhere beneath the surface of Lorg. Here fledgling mages can be trained in all aspects of necromancy; the fundamentals of the magic, its applications in warfare and industry, and the rules the Corpse Lords dictate to keep the undead in check.
