An OOC Note:This entire work is non-cannon to the greater Final Fantasy XIV universe and is in no way intended to serve as official writing. All original rights to the IP of Final Fantasy Fourteen and any referenced places, characters, world-building aspects, or histories are referenced for the sake of cohesive story-building for an original character set in the world. This is for entertainment purposes only and I'm always open to more feedback and would love to know your genuine and honest thoughts. I've had a lot of fun researching, creating, and building this House for an original character set within the Final Fantasy XIV world. Avianne is a lovely character that's been in the works for some time and built to be a character that can facilitate journeys for many adventurers while still feeling grounded and real within the world.

- Death Remembrance: Visits House Vorard Crypt on the birthdays of his father, mother, and sister. (Avianne's is upcoming soon)
- Is already preparing for All Saints Wake and the Starlight Celebration
- Zaillax Vorard: Evraut remains incredibly close to his brother. Though both brothers have been tempered since Avianne's death, pressed from all sides, everyone recognizes that though their relationship is quiet and broody, it is one of mutual respect and deep companionship. Silence does not always mean dislike.
- Otreene Vorard: Evraut dotes upon Otreene and takes every opportunity to see her smile and entertain nearly her every whim while still trying to guide her towards the responsibilities that she will one day need to take up.
- Lionnet Valtin: As Evraut's Childhood best friend the knight has served House Vorard for many faithful years and to this day he remains Evraut's best friend. Since the end of the Dragonsong War and the fracturing of House Vorard, he's been Evraut's strongest and most sure ally in seeing through the transition to a new age. The two are as close as brothers.
- Layonix Valtin: Layonix has assisted in guiding Evraut though rarely does he seem to go to the man for advice. They have a respectable relationship and in some ways, Layonix is an uncle to Evraut. Still in matters of the House or politics Layonix usually stays out of it. His place is at a patient's bedside.
- Varei Ropert: The Archery Master is treated with deep respect but there seems to be no personal companionship between him and Evraut. Their meetings only consist of business and only for short amounts of time before the man is dismissed.
- Mezoux Deileur: As the House Seneshal and Evraut's personal attendant Mezoux is treated with the utmost respect and from him Evraut often seeks advice and even friendly counsel.
- Jaurite Cauvuseur: In an odd twist it's noted among the servants that Jaurite is more likely than any of them to speak openly to Evraut, even providing council as if from the lips of Aurleux Vorard himself.
- Rionione Duileur: Though all servants within the House are treated with respect Rionione seems to have some sort of magical power over the three siblings. Whenever they are in need of levity they will find themselves into the kitchen and either they will cause a ruckus that the chef entertains by tossing flour at them and shooing them away while they sneak treats like young children, or they will seek out the quiet solace of the dark kitchen and beg hot chocolate. Evraut is no exception though admittedly this behaviour seems to have stopped in the last year or so.
- Eauplaut Ravon: Though the relationship between Ser Eauplaut and House Vorard is strained he and Evraut still hold one another in high regard. House Vorard still keeps all of their Chocobo needs with the Black-Snow Paddock and regular transactions of gil are sent to the stables for upkeep and future needs. Or perhaps debts.
- Istreane Sauvudaut: A former suitor from a House of Equal standing to Vorard and a renowned beauty, an elegant elezen known for grace and talents in music. They were engaged shortly after the end of the Dragonsong War following their fathers' wishes but it would have been a loveless union born of duty. It's perhaps luck that it was found out she was fooling around with her tailor. Evraut used it as an excuse to cut ties with her and shamed House Sauvudaut in the process.
- Jevone Clefier: A young gentle half-hyur woman who works with Varei closely as a skilled bowwoman. She always accompanies Evraut on his trips to Dravania. Some people rumor that she's closer to Evraut than others as she often visits his study in the early morning hours after his workouts.
Lord Zaillax Vorard
- Male Wildwood Elezen
- Apparent Age: Fourty Five
- True Age: Fourty|| 17th of the Third Astral Moon
- Height: Average at about six fulms, eight ilms
- Build: Lopsided- Though his clothes do a clever job of hiding it his left side is larger than his right
- Physiognomy: Prone to angry brooding when alone or tired; bright when with others.
- Eyes: Steel Grey
- Hair: Raven Black
- Other Appearance Notes: Moves slowly, with exaggerated purpose, has a strange gait, and walks heavily with a cane or assistance
- Training: When working out in the yard he does so shirtless and with tight shorts that show his battle scars:
- Religion: Unknown
- Political (Higher Rank): Respected, Loyal, Example of Sacrifice
- Political (Same Rank): Legendary, Solitary, Artistic
- Political (Lower Rank): Heroic, Distant, Awe-inspiring
- House of Lords and Commons: Will sometimes accompany Evraut- Has immense pull with military council and the Higher Houses
- Habits of Hygiene/Dress: His outfits cleverly disguise his mutilated form, clean-shaven, hair slicked back, presentable but always slightly disheveled- to his benefit. It gives him a disarming, even charming appearance.
- Habits when Solitary: Unknown
- Workout Routines: Late night after supper when no one else seems to be around but doesn't seem shy when others pass by him.
- Martial Skill: Seems to be trying to keep his skill with a sword, training with his left hand but he can't maintain the balance or power necessary with his ruined body. Can no longer wield a lance or a bow.
- Aetheric Skill: Unknown- Potentially none
- Education Specifics: Highly Educated
The man was misshapen. It was as if someone had formed a living model of clay, skillfully sculpting a strong man with fine features, a powerful muscular build, a straight back, and handsome proportions. Then they had taken all manner of tools to bludgeon and melt their creation.
His right leg was covered in scars of old popped blisters and splashes of burns but there was one large one of note. The mark ran from the back of his ankle up around the back of his leg to his knee, a red and purple mark that looked melted like pigmented candlewax had replaced his skin. The shin was also oddly bent- a sign of a clear break, or several. Then on the outer side of his thigh, the flesh was simply gone. Scooped, or more likely bitten out of him down to the bone. The hallow had been smoothed away from knee up to his hip but that did not disguise the fact that there was simply missing muscle. Over time to compensate for the loss his inner right thigh had bulged accumulating new muscle to aid in walking and this is what made his stance so leaning and awkward.
His right side from the waistline up to his shoulder was riddled with the same sort of marks. The deep melted quality of his skin and several other craters of missing flesh were scattered around his, lower back, right side, and abdomen; even stretching up along his chest to his neck and right shoulder. The shiny skin was red, purple, and angry even now as if he had just burned a few weeks ago. Some patterns in the scars would look almost like the outlines of armor like he had been cooked in it, the molten flames mingling with the metal of the armor to create horrific impressing that had burned down to the bone in some places. Many spots were missing muscle, and overall his right side, without the cleverly woven clothes, looked atrophied and he moved sluggishly whenever he used his right arm as if his body wasn't listening to him.
His left side looks whole, baring only the usual marks one would expect on an honored and decorated Knight of Ishgard and thankfully his face had been spared his final battle.
- Largely unobservable as most of his time is spent indoors save for his nightly workouts.
Does sit with his family in the morning when possible but during the week he seemed to miss the breakfast meal more than once as the kitchen hands commented in passing within Raine's hearing one morning. It would seem that Zaillax has specially prepared meals beyond that of the other two nobles and it has caused some tension within the staff- but only outside of the hearing of their mistress.
- The whole week Zaillax did not leave the estate save once. Where he took a longer walk with Otreene around the Pillars to escort her to House Tudevond (another noble house of similar standing to Vorard) though he did make the walk back alone.
- He received no visitors during the week.
- Largely unknown though any military observance is one that he is rumored to participate in. Commemorations of Battles, the anniversary of the End of the Dragonsong War and things of this nature.
- Evraut Vorard:
- Otreene Vorard: If Evraut and Avianne were chosen siblings then Otreene and Zaillax were just as inseparable. The two were, and still are, as close as any siblings could hope. It was Otreene who helped most to heal Zaillax to the point that he is at now, nursing him back to health and weathering his broody and angry outburst not to mention his listless silence. In the last few moons as he returns to his duties Otreene never seems far from him whenever she can be spared and it is her voice that seems to bring him out of his moods if they ever present in public. And how he dotes on her. He's wrapped entirely around her little fingers in a sibling bond that seems unbreakable. He is also fiercely protective of her, often caught glaring at anyone that outstays their welcome in her presence.
- Tonsa Seay:
A master weaver Tonsa first started her work for the Vorard Family through the youngest daughter, Otreene soon after the Dragonsong War. But in the year following the Dragonsong War Otreene begged that her brother Zaillax go to see the Viera. Due to his extensive injuries, the former knight had grown despondent and reclusive due to his long recovery and the limitations of his body after the fact. After the initial introduction, Zaillax was reportedly more himself- or rather not so melancholy and angry. Over the course of a moon, He visited the Weaver multiple times, each time returning to the estate in a seemingly better mood. Rumors are heavy that there's more between them than the creation of clothes that the lord can wear without pain. Especially as their contact has remained somewhat consistent in the moons following whenever the Weaver returns to Ishgard. There's even evidence that the pair exchange letters occasionally.
The initial first month of their meetings seems to have taken place within the last eight to nine moons, and their last contact was over two moons ago.
- Lionnet Valtin: Though his best friend is Evraut Lionnet is still as close as a brother to Zaillax. Often times Lionnet and Zaillax can be seen sitting in the yard after Zaillax is done with his exercises. They often will not speak, and sometimes they will 'spar' together. They served together on many a battlefield and perhaps words are not needed when the history of their shared war is writ so clearly on Zaillax's very body.
- Layonix Valtin: Perhaps unsurprisingly the one that Zaillax spends the most time with outside of his siblings is the House Chirugeon. Day in and Day out the former knight is visited by the Sage as they work to restore or at least calm his aetheric balance and soothe his hurts.
- Varei Ropert: Varei seems to be the exception to the rule with Zaillax where most are met with either his taciturn silence or his quiet polite but surface-level conversation Varei seems to be able to make the man smile. While they do talk primarily of House Business, the Hyur's unique charms seem to be tailored to match Zaillax.
- Mezoux Deileur: Where Mezoux is considered to first be a servant of Lord Evraut, then servant to House Vorard, and then servant to all else in the House the man seems to take his duties to Zaillax more seriously. Or perhaps the broken man simply has more need of him. From deliveries and message runners to the coordination of supplies and manpower to his distant projects. Mezoux is also rumored to have protected Zaillax from other house representatives in matters of courtesy. Those who approach the Lord in a way that he does not deem proper are summarily rejected.
- Jaurite Cauvuseur: Zaillax and Jautite have a very simple and distant relationship it would seem save for the fact that no one else will wash his clothes save for her. Perhaps it is out of duty but perhaps it is something more. An honoring of his sacrifice without the overt displays?
- Rionione Duileur: While Zaillax will not sneak into the kitchens for playful antics very often he does still do so and more often than not when he cannot be found around the estate he's said to be in there quietly resting in the hustle of the busy space. At least so long as the ovens aren't stoked. All of his meals seem to be hand-prepared by Rionione by specific design.
- Kinghts: It doesn't seem to matter that Zaillax was mute and reclusive for a full year following the Dragonsong War- All Knights seem to know his name or at least his story. As a decorated war hero ten times over, some even before the end of the War, he's something of a folk hero to many young squires who are coming into their knighthood now, as well as a reminder to older knights. He knows many by name and whenever he walks in public even knights of the High Houses offer him proper salutes.
- Sutors: Before the Dragonsong War Zaillax was known as a charmer though he (as far as the public is aware) never breached social courtesy and pressed his charms on women to the point of crossing that invisible line. He was also considered a very handsome man, even above Evraut. Even after his maiming, with his face whole, many view him as such. Add onto that his status as a venerated hero thanks to his deeds, women (and rumored a number of men) have called on the estate or cornered him in public, to try and press their advances on them. He rejects them all summarily without thought.
Lady Avianne Vorard
- Status: Dead- Four Moons after the Calamity
- Resting Place: An Empty Tomb within the Crypts of the Holy See's Catacombs with other leaders of House Vorard
- Remembered As (Higher Rank): Cunning, A good Marriage Match, Prideful
- Remembered As (Same Rank): Competition, Admirable, Witty
- Remembered As (Lower Rank): Compassionate, Confident, Beautifal
- Remembered As (Within House): Scholarly, Resourceful, A 'Fixer'
- Heroic Claims: None- As a Non-combattant and unskilled in aetheric healing she gained no acclaim while still sheltered by the covering of her parents
- Notorious Acts: None
- Death Story: Taken by Dravanian Attackers during a raid on Camp Dragonhead when she was visiting the Black-Snow Padock.
Lady Otreene Vorard
- Female Wildwood Elezen
- Apparent Age: Early twenties
- True Age: Twenty four; tenth of First Umbral Moon
- Height: Average at about six fulms, five ilms
- Build: Slender
- Physiognomy: Sweet and beautiful. Perpetually good-natured and innocent
- Eyes: Emerald Green
- Hair: Golden Blonde
- Religion: Unknown
- Political (Higher Rank): An excellent Marriage Match, Charming, Compassionate (if a bit foolish)
- Political (Same Rank): Etherial, Childish, Incredibly smart
- Political (Lower Rank): A saint, Etherial, Innocence to Protect
- House of Lords and Commons: Respected as a healer and for her compassion for the common folk- House of Commons will usually listen to anything House Vorard proposes because of her.
- Habits of Hygiene/Dress: Always immaculate and her outfits seem to be all at once perfectly in line with Ishgard's current fashions and also a touch beyond. The craftsman of them is perhaps not Ishgardian by birth.
- Habits when Solitary: Unknwn- She was never seen alone.
- Workout Routines: Daily walks
- Martial Skill: None that was observed
- Aetheric Skill: A rather powerful Scholar and is rapidly learning Sage skills as a Chirugeon
- Education Specifics: Highly Educated
- Breaks her fast with her siblings and is a lover of sweet breakfasts.
- After the morning meal she spends most of her time with Chirugeon Layonix Valtin in his Hall.
- If there are house calls to make within the city she takes these in the afternoon and if not she often vanishes inside the estate.
- Takes an evening walk with Evraut to wander about the Pillars in simple conversation.
- 1: Visited various other estates and businesses after high sun and focused primarily on the merchant class and lower social casts.
- 2: Visited various other estates and businesses after high sun and focused primarily on Houses of similar standing to House Vorard.
- 3: Did not leave the estate, did not receive visitors
- 4: Traveled to Camp Dragonhead under guard and spent time assessing conditions there and meeting with contacts from the Adventurers Guild.
- 5: Did not leave the estate; received visitors from members of House Vorard and other commoners seeking aid.
- 6: Did not leave the estate, did not receive visitors
- 7: Visited various other estates and businesses after high sun and focused primarily on the merchant class and lower social casts.
- Other: Is always accompanied by a Knight. If not Lionnet then one of two options: Alvoix Vuifin (elezen Poilleux Ropert (Hyur). Often there is also a young squire with her in addition to the knights.
- Is known to observe the deaths of her family members, all the past sacrifices, and the history of her House, with a silent vigil held on the Estate Grounds. A quiet ceremony that involves the lighting of a floating paper lamp on the founding date of the House.
- Attends nearly every celebration as the social representative of House Vorard and is a most skilled dancer.
- Seems to have a hand in planning the House's affairs when it comes to holidays.
- The birthdays for her brothers, and the name-days for many of the servants and knights seem to be of particular importance to her and she never misses a single one. In particular, this week of observation saw a gift of a chocolate and coffee cake confection delivered to Seneshal Mezoux Duileur, and a necklace to the Lupin- a simple leather cord with a rough cut stone or piece of ore that obviously meant something to the foreigner as he hasn't been seen without it off since.
- Evraut Vorard: Evraut may not be her favorite brother but he is still a beloved sibling and they spend a great deal of time together. Their evening walks are met without fail as they make time for one another and their conversations usually run in line with business within the House and their goals. Though Otreene may not be as cunning as her sister she still seems to provide with Evraut much food for thought.
- Zaillax Vorard: Zaillax was always her chosen brother. Their personalities more easily align than hers and Evraut's. Combined with her natural skill as an aetheric healer Otreene was the chief guide in healing Zaillax alongside a team of other more skilled Chirugeons. More than that she's probably singlehandedly responsible for keeping his sanity and encouraging him to keep fighting and keep living. She's incredibly protective of him and whenever he has to travel for any reason she's with him.
- Tonsa Seay: Tonsa Seay is an incredibly skilled Weaver who has brought her trade to the nobility of Ishgard since it was made open to the greater world after the Dragonsong War. Though Otreene is a client of hers the young elezen has taken to the Viera almost like a replacement sister. The two meet at least once a season and the results adorn Otreene in fine or practical garb of incredible skill. But what is more the young elezen has grown in confidence and has started to shed some of the grief that War and Death and Strife had smothered her with.
- Lionnet Valtin: Many assume that Otreene and Lionnet have had a romantic interest in one another for some time but nothing is ever confirmed and most of those rumors seem to originate from malicious sources, yet, perhaps there is something to it. Otreene seems to gravitate towards the Knight Captain more than any other in the house outside of her brothers.
- Layonix Valtin: As her direct mentor and almost a replacement father figure she spends time with Layonix each day without fail. She's also been known to take over his teaching towards other students now as her skills and understanding have grown. Layonix seems to view her equally as the daughter he never had and will often spend time with her when they both have downtime walking the PIllars, enjoying a bite to eat in one of the many eateries around the city.
- Varei Ropert: In her presence, Varei turns into the most perfect gentleman one has ever laid eyes on. Strong, stoic, flashing smiles, bright compliments, and always easygoing. Though the two don't seem to share an exceptionally close bond Otreene is always happy to see the man and he always brings her gifts from his travels which seems to spur her desire to be allowed to travel beyond Ishgard and the close settlements within Coerthas.
- Mezoux Deileur: As a doting man with a house full of women who all serve House Vorard it's perhaps no surprise that he looks to Otreene as something of another daughter. Though not in the disciplinarian way like Layonix, rather the confidant and the sure shoulder to carry the burden of her emotions.
- Jaurite Cauvuseur: If Jaurite is known to have a soft spot for anyone it's Otreene her only direct charge. She takes her work seriously already but many observe that with Otreene there's almost nothing she would not do. She was even once caught by Rionione to be passing chocolates to Otreene after having snuck them from the kitchen. The chef never seems to let that one go.
- Rionione Duileur: Otreene is a truly terrible cook. Just appalling- and yet she continues to try under the incredibly patient tutelage of Rionione or at least she did. In recent moons it seems she's given up on the idea as a failed venture and instead takes on the role of teasing mischief-causing child within the kitchens, stealing sweets whenever she can. Perhaps it is her outlet to remain with her childhood innocence a little while longer.
- Francel de Haillenarte: Many rumors can be heard from the right lips that Lord Francel intends to, or has already approached Lord Evraut to ask for Otreene's hand in marriage. No matter if these rumors are true or not is yet unknown.
- Ronantain de Durendaire: Though House Durendaire likely would never stoop so low as to seek a union through marriage with House Voarard is still curious how much time Otreene spends within their company and there are some whispers that Lord Ronantain has some affection for the woman but again this is wild speculation and servant's talk.
- Ostront Heahault: House Heahault is another House of similar standing to Vorard. They have long worked together in battle with House Heahault often providing additional logistical support to House Vorard's military prowess. The two houses often remain close during galas and balls, can be seen exchanging knights for extra training, and regular visits are made among their houses. While Viscountess Brevianne Heahault has continued her husband's support of House Vorard it is arguably Ostront, her son, who is more of an active participant on that front. Weekly visits are taken to House Vorard and at least once a week Otreene visits his estate as the two houses work together towards common goals.
Former Heads of House
- Status: Dead- Final Clash with Nidhogg over Ishgard
- Resting Place: Entombed within the Crypts of the Holy See's Catacombs with other leaders of House Vorard
- Remembered As (Higher Rank): Preemptive, Skilled Tactician, Loyal
- Remembered As (Same Rank): Proud, Strong, Brave
- Remembered As (Lower Rank): Ruthless, Uncompromising, Fair
- Remembered As (Within House): Proud, Uncompromising, Protective
- Remembered As (Family): Protective, Perfectionist, Honorable, Dedicated to the Chivalric Code
- Heroic Claims: Too many to recount- a Decorated War Hero, Defended the pass between the Dravanian Forelands and Western Coerthas many times over.
- Notorious Acts: By all accounts, Aurleux is a ruthless bastard unyielding in his dispense of Justice. Though he has never been accused of dealing under the table or behind the back foot he's never less been called a murderer and is responsible for the deaths of many Dravanian sympathizers (proof or no). Though not a crime then he is noted among the dragons and even the Vanu and Vath to be merciless against their kind smashing eggs and raiding when not necessary. This has left a stain on his children.
- Death Story: He was found dead, crushed under the rubble of a parapet that he was commanding his men from in the final battle of the Dragonsong War. Presumably, he ushered his men (a contingent of harpoonman and bowman) to safety at the cost of his ability to escape the crumbling wall.
- Status: Dead- 6 moons after her husband
- Resting Place: Entombed within the Crypts of the Holy See's Catacombs with other leaders of House Vorard
- Remembered (Higher Rank): Quick-witted, Charming, Loyal
- Remembered (Same Rank): Proud, Cunning, Wise
- Remembered (Lower Rank): Compassionate, Fair, Lofty
- Remembered (Within House): Cunning, Compassionate, Graceful
- Remembered (Family): Wise, Witty, Loving, Safe
- Heroic Claims: Survived a vicious attack on Dusk Vigil though the rest of her House was left to Burn. Presumably, she killed the heretic that betrayed her House.
- Notorious Acts: Rumored that she stopped an assassination attempt on her husband by force-feeding the assassin the poison that he was going to use on him. Theoretically, she watched him choke on his own blood even when he gave up his employer.
- Death Story: With the death of her husband, the maiming of her second son, and the previous loss of her daughter some moons before the End of the Dragonsong War it is said that Lady Orrane simply passed away from a broken heart

Current Directive/Orders (limited scope)With Lord Zaillax unable to travel he cannot fulfill the usual duties of Envoy and so that seems to have fallen to Lionnet. The knight is rumored to have traveled to many places south of Coerthas since the end of the Dragonsong War though whenever he is home he continues his duties as personal guard to the Leaders of his House.
Special ObservationsStill very close with the Former Knight Captain: Gannont Reavofat. Ser Gannont lives now in Camp Dragonhead (with a wife but no children) but makes weekly trips to Ishgard to spend time with Lionnet or other members of the house.

Noteably he has been tutoring Lady Otreene since she was a small girl in the ways of healing.
Special ObservationsHad an Apprentice: Issex Daimione who left his tutelage some 3 years before the Calamity and left Ishgard where most lost track of him. Currently has a Chirugeon post in Falcon's Nest. In the years away he was rumored to have been living in Gridania. The two did not, and still do not, keep contact.
Layonix's wife died when their son was but four years of age. The death was due to some imbalance of Aether within the woman that was uncurable.

While all knights and soldiers serving House Vorard are proficient in either the bow, harpoon, or firearm, those that show a specific aptitude for the martial skill are assigned to Varei. He is in charge of training them, and in battle he commands them. Sharpshooters to volley attacks- his tactics have saved many lives and killed many foes.
Current Directive/Orders (limited scope)Seems to be in heavy contact with the Gods' Quiver in Gridania to gain new recruits in exchange for something in return though what that may be is yet secret. There are also letters sent (reportedly weekly) to the Far East.
Special ObservationsIf left to travel alone he's usually weeks behind schedule.
Seems rather free with his romances, taking fancy as he pleases while traveling by charming seemingly anyone that stands still long enough to catch his eye but he is still a gentleman about it. It's rumored that he may have more than one illegitimate child but there's never been any proof of it.
His family name has served House Vorard for six generations and his three brothers serve as Knights under Ser Lionnet.

An army of ten servants (aside from the Lady's Maid and her retinue) report to Mezoux. Most are elezen or hyur of varying skill with little to note about them other than three exceptions. A male elezen of about thirty years or so looks to be related to him somehow, perhaps a son. Another is a male lupin who seems exceedingly skilled with botany but also spends every moment he can training with the squires and knights. Lastly is a young midlander female who cares for the Chocobo housed directly at the estate and is missing her right arm, her body marked by dragonfire- she keeps to the shadows like a ghost and shuns the company of the Spoken, keeping to the chocobos.
Special ObservationsEnjoys a nightcap and once a week joins with similarly ranked individuals from around the lower nobility of Ishgard as well as commoners from time to time in the Forgotten Knight for games of Triple Triade which he is very skilled at. There may be the potential that he has some debts in this regard but nothing to the extent of being a danger yet.
Loves his wife, daughter, and granddaughter very much taking time to walk with them around the open gardens of the Emyerum every few days.

Reports to the Seneschal but has two servants that report directly to her to manage the house- Two young elezen females. One is just coming into adulthood, and the other a young girl of perhaps twelve. Both are known to be orphans from the Dragonsong War
Special ObservationsIt's said that her husband was a Dravanian Sympathizer and it's even rumored that he accepted the gift of Dragon's Blood. Apparently, the moment this happened she fled to an Inquisitory who summarily put her husband to death and would have done the same to her had it not been for a young Lord Aurleux who had yet to inherit his position. Though it caused many to eye the House with suspicion, and young Aurleux even more so, House Vorard took the woman in as a maid who eventually became the Lady's Maid to Lady Orrane, and in turn her daughters. She's been a loyal servant and she bares the weight of a Heritic Sympathizer still.

Has a team of three dedicated servants to help in the kitchens along with two young children to help with odd tasks. The servants are as follows: 1 young Highlander Female, 1 Male Hrothgar of unknown age, and a middle-aged half-eleven female that has a striking resemblance to her. One of the children might be her granddaughter while the other is identified as an orphan elezen boy taken in by the House's generosity.
Policies and Ambitions
Overview of House Stance During the Dragonsong War and Post-Dragonsong War
During the Dragonsong War, for nearly a thousand years, the House followed the leadership of the Holy See, without question. They labored in the conflicts with the dragons and the beastmen, and they were, by all accounts, one of the more willing participants in the combative stance Ishgard took with the Dragons gaining power through martial violence and battle. Yet for all the influence they gained they seemed to always turn it back to the people under their charge, protecting and serving the common folk that called House Vorard their masters.
Post Dragonsong WarIn accordance with Lord Aymeric de Borel's vision for Ishgard as a nation House Vorard has thrown its resources and skill at any problem that it can. Since the death of his father, Evraut has worked ceaselessly to uphold his House's Honor and responsibility. The soldiers and knights at his command set to work at first with the immediate concerns of putting down revolts and clearing the rubble of Ishgard and later greater Coerthas. Chirugeons were dispatched whenever they were needed most, gil and influence were spent at every turn. Not only this but his soldiers and knights, whenever called upon, were the first to volunteer for military action alongside the Grand Companies of Eorziea, the standard being flown proudly alongside the other nations.
Fool's Hope
Though all in Ishgard, and even House Vorard, believe that Avianne is dead, Evraut seems to cling to the idea that she's alive somewhere. He keeps updated posters and flyers posted within Ishgard, among the Adventurer's Guild, and even settlements within greater Coerthas that bare Avianne's visage and presumed details. He has been seen meeting with Bounty Hunters from time to time with claims to have seen her or claims that she's in their custody. False claims are met with swift retribution and whenever news that she might have been seen reaches Evraut somehow a reason to send knights to that part of Eorzea comes up. No one seems able to dissuade him from the idea that his beloved sister is out there to be found.
- Pressure
- Knights' Search
- Gale Noir
One Bounty Hunter found Avianne, truly, and tried to take her back to Ishgard by force. Though the details of what happened, why she was not captured, and what happened to that Bounty Hunter are mysteries. All that remains of the interaction are rumors that Ser Lionnet was sent to Gridania in search of the man who had approached the House initially only to be unable to find him. Many assume that he was yet another gil-hungry dishonorable mercenary trying to fleece Evraut of coin.
Whenever knights of the house are sent outside of Ishgard, for any reason, they have secondary orders: Find Avianne.
Though only one knight was present for the requested meeting with Evraut, many at the estate could describe the elezen with red eyes and the name 'Gust' has been whispered from time to time whenever servants of the House come across one of Avianne's posters in the city. It would seem that this meeting happened within the last six moons. Though nothing seems to be happening on this front many whispers also assume that the man was no different than the other Bounty Hunters and Adventurers and has failed in a fool's erand.
Rebuilding of Ishgard and Coerthas
More Recently, with the War with Garlemald over, and the most immediate concerns of Ishgard's stability seen to, House Vorard endeavors to see the glory of Ishgard restored. Lord Zaillax, with his returned confidence, works with engineers and craftsmen daily to see continual improvements in the city, the Firmament, and now branching out to the settlements within Coerthas. Though he does not travel outside the city often he has daily audiences with his contacts and much of his time is spent drafting letters and plans alike. He shows a knack for understanding the bones of destroyed buildings seeing the potential and reusing the foundations and traditions to make new.
Lady Otreene has taken to traveling with a contingent of knights to the settlements of Coerthas to tend to the hurts of the common folk, bringing healing, food, gil, and more importantly: a means for bettering their lot. Otreene's visits are not just about charity but about education and opportunity. She's positioned her brother for the opportunity to seek out young children who need home and purpose and bring them back to Ishgard. Many of the orphans at the house are there due to her invitation. There are also some rumors that she intends to expand this idea to the realm of centers of learning within Coerthas- even perhaps further south but for now her dreams are small and simple as she finds her way as Lady of House Vorard.
Viscount Evraut himself is the center of all efforts of course. Burying himself in his work without relenting as he sees the efforts of his siblings funded, and guided towards sustainable ends. Though his own ambitions are not so easily teased out there is evidence that he seeks to broaden the House's contact more firmly with the other nations of Eorzea and the Far East- including improving relations with Beastmen and Dragons alike.
Ties to Dravania
The days directly after the Dragonsong War were focused on the stabilization of a nation turned inside out, their ideology, faith, governance, and even identity stripped by the lies they had built their nation upon. And part of that endeavor was reaching back out to those who had suffered just as much as the people of Ishgard. The Dragons. An endeavor that fell to no other individual but Evraut. When he was able he rode for Dravania and met with what Dragons would answer his call to speak with them, and learn from them. He could not be gone long from his seat in Ishgard though and soon a routine was formed. Every two moons Evraut would travel to Dravania to meet with the Dragons taking only his most trusted knights with him for the meetings. Not much is known of what happens there as the knights are sworn to secrecy and no tangible records seem to exist. There are rumors though that Evraut, whatever his ambitions are, are not going well and, point of fact, his most recent trip has seen him return in a foul mood.

- The Skysteel Manufactory

- The Beast Tribes
There is considerable history between House Vorard and House Durendaire. Most of it is thick with tension and rivalry that has continued even after the end of the War.
In the House of Lords and Commons Evraut often is met with resistance from representatives of House Durendaire, even on small items and it is usually only with the presence of Lord Zaillax that his proposals are heard and considered.
Lord Zaillax shows nothing but good grace towards the House openly though under his charm it's clear that he holds a greater deal of contempt for many of the Knights. This can likely be traced back to a consistent history of House Vorard and House Durendaire competing on the battlefield. Skirmishes and battles, particularly in areas that may otherwise pass the care of the High Houses such as small hamlets and villages under duress from the Dravanian Horde or Beastmen alike. Here House Vorard would protect the common folk and their interests, excelling in battle, and more often than not, they would be considered heroes for their work- if not for House Durendaire sweeping in seemingly last moment to take their glory. There are also records of House Durendaire withdrawing from joint battles where House Vorard was present and leaving the smaller House to face threats alone, or otherwise abandon common folk for the 'greater good' or for sure victory. Something that has never sat well with House Vorard and most especially it seems with Zaillax if his history as a military commander had anything to say about it.
The only potential thread of common ground between the two houses was Lady Otreene as the gentle young woman has, on more than one occasion, been escorted to visit with the Astrologians for a few days before being brought back. This seems to be something that happens regularly and she's always escorted by knights from both houses. Officially the visits are a matter of 'courtesy and goodwill' but none seem to know what that means.
Though the connection is loose if House Vorard were to have a House that could be called their masters it would be House Fortemps. Though such structure has been all but forgotten the histories indicate that the bloodlines between House Fortemps and House Vorard split nearly nine hundred years ago and on paper should House Fortemps call on House Vorard as bannerman they would be obliged to honor the call. This has not happened in over eight hundred years ago, however, and as a result, the connection is nearly all but forgotten. Nor do the two houses seem to acknowledge the legal rights of such a connection.
Relationships with the two houses have always been amiable and cooperative and House Vorard's soldiers and nights have often joined together in battle to defend Coerthas and while House Vorard often focused on Western Coerthas the battle bonds forged over countless generations have only strengthened their ties.
The only exception was in recent years after the illegitimate birth of Haurchefant Greystone. Once it came to light House Vorard distanced themselves from House Fortemps with the Viscount declaring he could no longer respect Count Edmont de Fortemps because of his betrayal of his wife. This put considerable strain on the relationship between the two houses which has only eased since Lord Evraut took over the governance of the House. Especially as House Vorard and House Fortemps often worked together in the battles following the end of the Dragonsong War on behalf of the Alliance.
Before the end of the Dragonsong War, when House Haillenarte was accused of ties to the Drivanian Horde and branded heretics, House Vorard was no different than the majority of Ishgard's noble cast. Outwardly they denounced the House and joined with the majority. Lord Vorard was vehemently opposed to their ranks and shunned all contact, even bringing justice down upon his own house should they be caught in their company. And yet now that all has passed the two houses seem to have a bond that ignores such hostility. Perhaps not was all as it seemed back then.
The relationship between House Vorard and House Haillenarte seems strong, seemingly filled with goodwill and even companionship with both Zaillax and Otreene playing their part.
House Vorard works very closely with members of House Haillenarte due to the restoration projects of Ishgard. Though Lord Zaillax missed the initial push he still is a strong voice with the initiative and continually works with the House on projects outside of the city, looking now for the restoration of places such as Falcon's Nest and even rumors of restoring the Vigils to their former glory circled.
Otreene often visits with members of the House. Some seem to be for healing, and some seem to simply be social visits, and more than once she's been seen walking with Lord Francel and Lord Zaillax when Zaillax leaves the comfort of the estate to walk the Firmiment and inspect the city's rebuilding.
In the time since the end of the Dragonsong War Lord Evraut has spent increasing amounts of time among members of House Dzemael. Though before the relationship between the two houses had been middling at best now it would seem that Evraut is attempting to build something stronger.
The biggest draw seems to be centered around the pitched fights that House Dzemael hosts even to this day. It's here that Lord Evraut can often be found, and members of the House have even competed in the fights, winning renown and glory for their names in tournaments.
Since Ishgard formally joined the Alliance House Vorard has been a continual military presence in any call to action that could use knights and soldiers that could be spared. Sometimes their forces were few and intended to lead others, sometimes (such as The Battle of Ghimlyt Dark nearly their entire retinue of knights and soldiers was sent for that conflict. Many of their numbers were also sent to Garelmald to aid in the liberation of their people. This military support has gained them some recognition within the Grand Companies but as the House is small, and many care not for the political intricacies of Ishgard, their influence is yet minute in the tapestry of the Alliance.
One of several Chocobo stables scattered throughout Coerthas. Though other stables focus on the flying bloodlines Black-Snow is particularly known for the breeding of War Chocobo. Powerful, black-feathered, intelligent, and often aether-wielding beasts of battle that are uniquely paired with knights. For generations the Ravon family line has maintained the bloodlines and their chocobo are often the source of tales and more than one has been decorated with war honors for bravery or cunning. Though the Dragonsong War is over the stables still continue their work though it's rumored that they refuse to sell their steeds to anyone who isn't a Sanctified Knight of Ishgard.
Ser Eauplaut Ravon- A former knight who retired from service to take over his father's Chocobo Paddock. The man's business is run by roughly ninety percent of orphans that he's gathered from all over Ishgard's territories and to this day produces some of the most renowned chocobo steeds intended for battle. Since the death of Erlont, the Calamity, and the end of the Dragonsong War Eauplaut has reportedly become more cantancerous than ever.
Erlont Kunard- One of the dozens of Orphans taken in by Ser Eauplaut Ravon to staff his chocobo stables Erlont showed incredible aptitude for the breeding, raising, and training of Battle Chocobo. He would have eventually taken over the stable in a position of honor though not nobility. He eventually fell in love with Avianne as they grew up together. He died during a Dravanian Ambush attack surrounded by House Vorard Knights and in the company of Lord Aurleux Vorard. Records show that he died defending Viscont Vorard during the attack.
A small private forge that has been around since the founding of Ishgard The Dragon's Blood Forge is owned by Master Jaurront Zearaire. The forge is heavy with tradition and culture and while The Skysteel Manufactory takes the majority of the forge work many Houses still call on the traditional techniques of Zearaire's family line. They produce all of the armor and weapons of House Vorard save the pistols and harpoon guns. A space for their artisans to work on repairs is also set up at the Vorard Estate.
There is little contact between the Garlond Ironworks and House Vorard. At least openly. However, servants of House Vorard are often seen coming and going from The Skysteel Manufactory though often left empty-handed.
Though a primary source of arms and armor for the Ishgardian fighting forces House Vorard never seemed to have extensive contracts with them. At least until firearms and hand harpoons became a normal part of a fighter's kit. These items were procured through the Skysteel Manufactory but the bulk of their armor and weapons are still made by the Dragon's Blood Forge.
Even before the end of the Dragonsong War the Rebills were rumored to have had contact with the House, or rather they targeted the House often enough. At least until the last few moons of the war which caused them to turn a blind eye to the house completely. This is information more found in public records of their history than current rumors though at the Skydocks there are jokes about it from time to time.
Since the end of the Dragonsong War House Vorard has made a handful of visits to the Gods' Quiver, sending Varei most often as their Envoy. Nothing seems to have come from their efforts so far.
Much like House Fortemps, House Vorard does not show many reservations when it comes to working with outsiders depending on the task. Though under her predecessor these contracts were mostly military in nature, calling on outsiders to aid the knights and soldiers when needed, Evraut has taken to commissioning a wider range of helping hands. From botanists to bounty hunters. From scholars to artisans. The tasks are varied enough and seemingly without pattern but most everything seems to revolve around the rebuilding of his House, aiding those that rely on him, as well as aiding other Houses and minor nobility with making connections outside of Ishgard with reliable contacts.
As with most Ishgardians prior to the end of the Dragonsong War and the truth that was revealed, House Vorard carried smoldering hatred for all dragons and their kin. Their passion for their nation and the truth they thought they were upholding carried them with righteous fury and purpose. They showed equal hate against the dragons as they showed for the elezen and were vicious and skilled fighters against their kind without hesitation.
Of course, the end of the War brought with it a new understanding and an upheaval of everything that the House knew and represented. In the moons directly following the end of the war House Vorard contended with the loss of their patriarch and their purpose. It fell to Lord Evraut to guide his house out of that mire of unease and directionless focus.
In the annals of their history it's recorded that Evraut gathered all the people under House Vorard in a single location and spoke to them about their new direction. He spoke eloquently of the past sacrifices of their loved ones and how they were still worthy of honor as their hearts were bent on the protection of their loved ones and the crimes of a thousand years ago need not darken their brows. Instead what mattered was how they moved forward with the truth. The truth is that elezen and dragons once stood side by side and much as a feuding family can mend the rift if given the chance, so too must House Vorard look to the future and mend the rift that had grown between their races.
Though this sentiment did much to redefine Hous Vorard's direction it was the actions that followed which cemented their future. It started slowly with only trusted members of the House but over time House Vorard and members of the Dravanian Horde started to work together on rebuilding areas within Coerthas. Tensions remain high between them though as healing and slow building of trust takes place on both sides of their pasts. However, only in the last few moons has Evraut begun to seek out actual dragons. Traveling to the Forelands with a trusted contingent though none yet know the purpose.
There are some whispers from other houses that House Vorard has had contact from, or to, more than one of the Beast Tribes. There seem to be mixed feelings about this.
