A cold game of strategy is played between 8 warring nations. Elsewhere, a being slumbers that could someday devour the world. The world is alive, and magical energy is studied like a science. As far as anyone knows, time travel is one-directional, and occasionally there is a person, place, or thing that appears untouched from centuries ago. The planet is dotted with Wildlands, magical sources where the unpredictable can chase you away. Nomadic peoples are trapped in between it all, forced to make their way in between unpredictable borderlands and battlegrounds.
YOU are a Blade: a roving mercenary who travels the Southlands of Zawa, seeking employment for the work that people either refuse to do, or are unable to handle. The reasons why you have fallen into the deadlier work of this land is up to you, but you are now, by choice or otherwise, committed to living a landless, violent life. How do you make your way in the world around you?
