Personal history

The reign of Emperatrix Mariana was marked by neither failure and scandal nor by significant achievement. She presided over a generally positive economic and political climate until 8087, when increased pirate activity by the Sirens led to economic and political turmoil. This was further complicated by her failing health.

On the 10th of Nîshosh, 8089, Mariana fell ill. This signaled weakness to her political enemies in the Estinos Primum movement. Led by Valerius Lucillus Torascio Iunior, Estinos Primum forced a vote in the Imperial Senate declaring the Iutranian Dynasty illigitimate.
