Horog

Also known as the Bullet Frog, the Horog is a large frog with a singular horn growing from its head.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Horog is a large frog with a singular horn growing from its head. They have incredibly powerful back legs that they slap against the ground to create a bang-like sound, as well as using them to launch themselves at any perceived foe.

Ecology and Habitats

Found mostly in swampland, male Horogs will designate an area as their territory and mark it by croaking loudly every evening for several hours. The larger the Horog and loder its croak, the more territory it can claim.   The females usually live in small huddles of three to five, always returning to the same spot each night to sleep with the others in its group.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They primarily eat insects, though particularly large specimens have been known to eat small fish as well.

Behaviour

They are extremely territorial, and will hurl themselves horn first at anything that enters their domain, often impaling it with their horn. This will also often result in the Horog becoming stuck in the creature.

The impaled creature will need to pull the amphibian out and throw it away before running, as the Horog will undoubtedly attempt to launch itself at them again.
