The Night Ape

According to legend, if you catch one of them by the tail, it owes you 3 true answers to any question you might have.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are small, humanoid creatures with thick but sparse hair covering most of their body. Much like other primates, they have hand-like paws and a prehensile tail, though their fingers are incredibly long and thin. They also have large ears that flop around on the sides of their heads.

Ecology and Habitats

Found only in warm climates such as jungles. They build medium sized nests out of woven leaves and branches high in the trees, where they sleep most of the day.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They eat primarily fruit and nuts, collecting large amounts and storing them in their nests. They will also collect gourds and hollow them out, placing fruit and water inside and letting it ferment, creating a primitive alcoholic substance that they will consume on nights with a New Moon.

Behaviour

Night Apes live in groups of up to six, usually as a family unit. They only come out at night, searching for food and water, and will quickly return to their nests long before sunrise.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their large ears make them able to hear all but the most silent of predators approaching from several dozen meters away.

Conservation Status
Due to rampant over hunting, Night Apes are considered Endangered.   In order to combat this, it is illegal to own any Night Ape as a pet without a special license, which must be approved by the rulers of the region in which the individual wishing to attain one resides.
