The Silent Crows
The Silent Crows, originally a simple street gang in the burgeoning city of Havenport, saw its rise to power in a gang war that plagued the streets of Havenport for years. Through cunning, brutality and more than a little murder, The Silent Crows cemented themselves as the top dog in the city, either eradicating or absorbing the other gangs and forming the closest thing Havenport had to a Thieves Guild. Now they seek to expand their operations across the continent of Eagos.
Structure
The Silent Crows follow a simple but effective structure.
Guild Master: The individual who runs the majority of the day-to-day business of the Guild, and approves plans for larger heists. The position is currently held by Alecia Preen.
Advisors: Three individuals who assist in the day-to-day running of the Guild, and each control one of the three middle positions; Security, Intelligence, and Bosses.
Security: Responsible for keeping the base, as well as any interests and people of importance, safe from outside attacks.
Intelligence: Collectors of information and secrets, they focus on almost anything from local gossip to who has what treasures secreted away. They are always ont he lookout for information that could help the Guild.
Bosses: Control the lower rungs of Thieves, Ruffians, and Vagabonds, ensuring that they only act int he appropriate areas and don't break any of the Guild rules.
Thieves: Experts in acquiring items and merchandise by less reputable means.
Ruffians: Made up primarily of muggers, they also functions as bodyguards or muscle for more important members of the Guild.
Vagabonds: "Independent" members of the Guild, who cover the bases and do the jobs that the other members of the Guild are ill suited to.
Initiates: The lowest rung of the ladder in the Guild, these are youths who wish to join the Guild, but have yet to prove themselves in any area and so do not have an official position yet.
History
The Silent Crows started as a small time gang in the quickly growing city of Havenport, along with a half dozen more. Originally simply called the Crows, the future Thieves Guild used guile and cunning while others preferred brute force and threats. While other gangs sought to grow and expand their territory as quickly as possible, the Crows instead focused on improving and enhancing their current members, only allowing the best of the best to join their ranks. As the other gangs grew in power and influence inevitable conflict brewed, The Silent Crows watching from the shadows until a full blown gang war began.
The gang war lasted almost an entire year, with the gangs quickly erradicating the majority of each other's strength, until only a token force remained for each. Except for The Crows, who remained almost entirely hidden for the duration of the war. During a lull in the fighting, each leader of the remaining gangs was suddenly found assassinated in their sleep, a single crow's feather left on their foreheads as a calling card. This sudden and vicious attack left many gangs scrambling, only to be quickly absorbed by the few gangs that could replace their leaders quickly.
Of course, these new leaders were quickly assasinated as well, the same single crow's feather left on their foreheads denoting who did the deed. This led to a city-wide hunt for The Crows, who managed to remain hidden in the most unlikely of places, within the folds of the gangs that were hunting them themselves. Soon, the last remaining gangs fell, the members scattering and attempting to form new gangs, only to be approached by cloaked figures wearing crow masks and given a ultimatum: "Join us, or die."
It did not take long for every gang of thieves and ruffians in the entirety of the city of Havenport to fall under the perview and control of the newly named Silent Crows, and the new Thieves Guild was formed. Since then, the Guild has had several leaders, with the latest being Alecia Preen, also known as "The Alabaster Crow".
