Mist Moor
Geography
Mist Moor is a rather small island off the coast of Asteria. The Island itself is mostly untouched leaving a lot of its landmass to remain covered in thick forests and sharp cliffs. What has been claimed by the many pirates who frequent the location is crammed with many different wooden shacks and structures that house families, taverns, and brothels and not a lot of anything else.
Climate
Mist Moor appears to be surrounded by slightly cooler waters than many of the islands around it. The normally humid weather quickly chills as it moves out over the ocean creating a wall of mist that shields and protects the island from outsiders and from the cooler air of the waters around them.
History
Mist Moor was originally owned by the Shuvien Empire though as the Asterian Empire and the Iharian Empire began to encroach on the land Mist Moor was taken up by those originally emplyed by the Shuvien Royal Navy who either abandoned their posts or took on missions off the books to try and keep hold of land. Once the government turned against their actions they began to band together in an attempt to simply live a better life. They claimed Mist Moor as they could easily hide there while the built up their numbers, defenses, and homes. Eventually it shifted into more of a temporary stop, a safe place for the pirates on the seas.
