[ESR] Ion Shield

The ElectroScalaritic Reactive Ion Shield is an incredibly intuitive defensive weapon, designed to prevent damage from attacks with high velocities and ES reactions. The ESRIS was designed and invented by Tirza Sack, who drew inspiration from a science fiction novel by William Slowder.

Mechanics

The ESRIS sustains an incredibly large ElectroScalaritic Scalp without inducing a chain reaction. This causes the temperatures around the Scalp to rise [up to 650˚] , and releases a colored hue similar to the ERC, with different colors for each reaction's size. By connecting two of these scalps, an electromagnetic pulse circulates between each, and scalaritic particles are free to travel between, as does the static ES reaction.   If three or more scalps are connected, the reaction is able to circulate not just between the three, but in the space in between as well. In other words, by connecting three or more static ES Reactions, a Scalaritic Reactive Field [SRF] is formed, and linking multiple together can create large shields of SRFs. An SRF, in addition to releasing heat and color, also absorbs kinetic energy and, due to the large number of scalaritic particles, attracts other scalar particles. These two effects are capable of shutting down the Utility Cartridge of an ERC and slows it down considerably, reducing the bullet's total damage to that of being hit by a small rock.

Uses and modifications

The ESRIS can be used as a physical shield, a large dome of protection, embedded into clothing [essentially creating ERC proof armor], or built into the walls of buildings.
