Personal history
Towering over most students, Melwythorne strikes an imposing figure, especially given the branches that grow from their head like antlers. Calm in demeanor, they're often confused by the people rushing around them, as their haste won't lengthen their brief lifespans. Melwythorne had never been away from their grove before coming to Strixhaven and has found the transition to university life difficult. However, since they joined the Intramural Silkball Club, this close-knit surrogate family has helped them deal with their homesickness.
They are also a member of the Student-Mages of Faith. They enjoy helping their fellow students celebrate their high holidays and discussing theology and spirituality. For them, the natural world and all living beings form a vast consciousness across all planes of existence, transcending the power and reach of any one deity.
Melwythorne is currently in the process of learning Common, having started the semester only knowing the word 'hello.'

Melwythorne left home to come to Strixhaven to find a way to stop a slow but persistent evil permeatingthroughout their home.
Personality Quirks
Melwythorne considers all living things as part of a greater whole, and as such feels a deep pain whenever they see something living being mistreated. This mainly comes from how homesick they feel. Abusing nature is the easiest way to anger them. Some students believe Melwythorne frequently ‘weaponizes’ the flora around campus, leaving littletraps for people that do not respect nature. Other students believe that the awakened shrub seen attacking Aurora recently, whilst she was clearing weeds at the Stadium grounds, was one such trap left by Melwythorne.

Contacts & Relations
Nora became good friends with Melwythorne, during the trans-support groups she runs. Melwythorne has learnt a lot about themselves thanks to Nora’s insight.
Shuvadri and Melwythorne spend lots of time together, often in silent contemplation at some theological idea the other has posed.
Cadoras upsets Melwythorne regularly, when he uses the campus vegetation for target practise. Melwythorne doesn’t understand the delight to be taken in any form of violence, especially when it is against nature.
Urzmaktok is seen by Melwythorne as someone who only grows and nourishes nature to later suck out its life-force for their own gain. Melwythorne dislikes this life-siphoning practise.
