Court Gem

A court gem is a gold coin with a valuable gemstone inlaid in the center, typically ruby, sapphire, emerald, topaz, or diamond. Because of the gem, it is thicker than copper, silver, and gold. One court gem is the equivalent of 10,000 copper, 100 gold, or 10 goldstacks. The stone is of certain color, purity, and size requirements, but individual stones may vary in weight, color, cut, and quality. However, they all are crafted to be of the same value. Court gems are not frequently used by commoners.   Gems are sometimes treated as currency themselves, according to the valuation of the stone, which can range in value.  Court gems are standardized to be of the value of 10,000 cop, so they are able to be used for official payments.
