Galleon

Galleons are large, multi-decked sailing ships used as armed cargo carriers and are the principal vessels drafted for use as warships. Galleons generally carry three or more masts with a lateen fore-and-aft rig on the rear masts, are carvel built with a prominent squared off raised stern, and use square-rigged sail plans on their fore-mast and main-masts.
Galleons are smaller than frigates but larger than caravels and galleys.
