Loch Chon

Fed from an underground river from Loch Chocor, Loch Chon (Elvish: Llyngwemerald), also known as "Soul Lake," is a lake mostly surrounded by the cliffs of the Forenthir Highlands, with the southeast section the lower, forested region of the Caradda Forest.  The lake's famously-green waters are said to hold emeralds on the bottom of the lake, which shine green under the light of a directly-overhead full moon.

Geography

Surrounded mostly by the cliffs of the Forenthir Highlands, and touching the Caradda Forest on the southeast portion.

Localized Phenomena

Emeralds shine green when illuminated by the light of the full moon, which would need to be directly overhead due to the cliffs towering around the lake.
