Union of Smiths, Finesmiths and Metalworkers

The Union of Smiths, Finesmiths and Metalworkers (USFM) is a decently sized union in the City State of Styx which represents smiths, blacksmiths, tinsmiths, coppersmiths, finesmiths, tinkers as well as armorsmiths and anybody else who primarily works with metal.

The USFM, like the Union of Weavers and Leatherworkers originally fell on hard times as independent artisans were pushed out of business by the large scale manufacturies.
Like the workers of the UWL the metalworkers of Styx found their salvation in the trade of making custom made metal goods of higher quality than the manufacturies can deliver.

Due to the great dwarven tradition of metalworking the USFM boasts a high membership among Dwarves within the People's Republic of Styx; within the Great Union the Dwarves even begrudgingly put aside the religious schiism between the Skyward Orthodox and the Eldtruth-Kept.
