Fish Wardens
Swimming in lazy circles around the lake, Meer finally found what she was looking for, an ungrateful fisherman. He had been coming to the lake for the past three weeks always seeming to snag his catch and be gone before and of the Wardens could catch him. Meer waited for his next cast and the moment the baited hook hit the water, she slipped off the worm gave the line a tug. She watched as he started reeling in the empty hook. As her and the fisherman repeated this cycle, Meer fed the stolen worms to one of her bass friends. The next week when the fisherman came back, Meer was pleasantly surprised to see the man was much more grateful and she only stole his bait once.
Structure
The Wardens are a fairly autonomous bunch, as much of their duties rely on catching perpetrators in the act and correcting the behavior on the spot. When orders are handed down it is either for specific projects or because areas of the lakes or lower ponds have been missed on recent patrols.
Culture
The wardens love causing mischief as much as the next fairy but they take their duty to protect the integrity of fishing very seriously. Some of their tactics include taking the bait off of hooks, snapping lines, pulling bobbers under just long enough to get the line reeled in. They have also been known to trade some of the worms they steal off the hooks to the local birds to harass and bombard the aggrieving fishers.
Public Agenda
The wardens aim to ensure any human who fishes their waters are grateful for the opportunity. If there is no gratitude shown, the humans are in some way or another, prevented from fishing there. The other aim is to have the humans respect the surrounding areas, and focus more on the fishing experience rather than the catching.
Assets
The wardens have a vast collection of lures, bobbers, lead weights, and massive balls of tangled line that they show off in their under water Log Lodge.
