Eric Westgate/Westfield, Earth
- Born in 2433 to a poor low-class family in a small border town in Canada. When he was 9, his family, sensing the tensions between Canada and New California were high, and that California would win a war if one was fought between them, fled to the city of Oakland, California.
- With forged documents, Eric Westgate was essentially a New Californian citizen, with no one asking or pressing on his realistic identity. He knew what he was doing was wrong, but he did it anyway, to get out of a bad situation that was about to get worse.
- Medium height, strong, athletic, intelligent. Black hair and green eyes, with a slightly noticeable scar along his forehead.
- Hobbies
- Eric was always a studious, smart, and brave child. In elementary school, he blended in and became quite popular among his classmates, eventually becoming captain of the football, basketball, and volleyball teams.
- He loved planes, especially the high tech futuristic fighter jets within all militaries of the world. He desperately wanted to become a pilot, and on his 13th birthday, he was allowed to fly in an ancient decommissioned fighter jet. He loved it.
- He would fly planes for fun whenever his parents had enough money to spare, which was not often. He got extremely skilled at flying before he was 15, competing competitively in both illegal and legal races, and had an impeccable win streak. Known as the Angel of Oakland in the flying community.
Disaster, 2450
- In the early hours of July 6th, 2450, the early warning prediction AI system alerted Oakland residents that three enemy fighter jets from the UN Conglomerate were rapidly approaching, and to evacuate the city immediately.
- The massive anti-air guns that remained dormant for so many years became active, firing almost one million rounds at the three enemy jets, but missed. A few seconds later, as Eric and his family fled the city, he saw three jets drop out of supersonic travel, drop three bombs, then jet away as fast as they came in.
- The resulting detonation was one from a UN Red-Orange “Defective Singularity Engine.” Ripping buildings, cars, and people apart at the atomic level, there were instantly over 400,000 casualties, including his parents, who were impaled on a large piece of rebar that was blown off of one of the three hundred story tall buildings that were destroyed moments ago.
- This tipped him over the edge and convinced him that joining the military was the way to avenge his parents and the thousands of other people’s deaths.
- Issue arises
- The secret past he had been living with would not only exempt him from the military but because he was an undocumented Canadian immigrant, he would be deported and jailed.
- To circumvent this issue, he continued flying planes, changing his name to Eric Westfield, in hopes of being recruited. It was a success, and he was welcomed into the air force with open arms, and a fresh plane to start the war with.
Closing
Despite not being a Californian citizen, and having a traumatic experience, Eric Westfield became one of the greatest military pilots in the world, outperforming entire squadrons of jets in battle, and taking unnecessary risks to save his comrades.
