Chitin

The Biologic material that arthropod's exoskeletons are made of. Chitin can be used in place of wood and steel in weapons and armor. The cost of a Chitin weapon or armor is half the price of a normal weapon or armor of its type and is typically half the bulk of its Iron or Steel counterparts. Treated Chitin plates from an arthropod can be shaped int composite or plate armor for a creature one size category smaller. Chitin plates can be rolled and lacquered into weapons that do bludgeoning damage. Chitin claws and Mandibles can be used to craft Piercing and slashing weapons.
