Unarmed Attacks

Affected Groups

Any creature has the option to make an unarmed attack.

Cultural Reception

Bar Fights

Nightlife can get rowdy at times; Often a mutually engaged unarmed scuffle will be overlooked by a City Watch. Once participants draw weapons, however, they are subject to severe discipline.

Bar Fights

  • If a Character draws a weapon in a "fair fight" they will likely be detained by City watch and lose standing in the settlement as a minor disservice to the community
  • If a particularly rowdy fight lasts longer than 5 rounds, most city watches will arrive to put a stop to it.
  • Punching non-combatants without due cause will most certainly get you arrested or run out of town

Prize Fighting

A few talented brawlers can earn income in exhibition fights in a Settlement .

Prize Fighting

  • a character can Earn Income with their Unarmed Attack proficiency up to their level and the settlements level
  • This Can be completed in normal Downtime or in an Encounter.
  • These fights are intended to be one-on-one, If another character strikes your opponent you will lose by disqualification
  • If Played out in an encounter the other party member can place bets, and/or seek out various means of Buffing or rebuffing the contestants; that should do so with care, there would surely be consequences if they are caught manipulating the outcome of a fight

Unarmed Attacks

Almost all characters start out trained in unarmed attacks. You can Strike with your fist or another body part, calculating your attack and damage rolls in the same way you would with a weapon. Unarmed attacks can belong to a weapon group, and they might have weapon traits. However, unarmed attacks aren’t weapons, and effects and abilities that work with weapons never work with unarmed attacks unless they specifically say so. Unarmed Source Core Rulebook pg. 283 2.0 An unarmed attack uses your body rather than a manufactured weapon. An unarmed attack isn't a weapon, though it's categorized with weapons for weapon groups, and it might have weapon traits. Since it's part of your body, an unarmed attack can't be Disarmed. It also doesn't take up a hand, though a fist or other grasping appendage generally works like a free-hand weapon. Weapons Fist
