Eye of Tares

The ancient obelisk known as 'The Eye of Tares' bears a huge stone eye carved into each face, as well as the name 'Tares'. There are rumours of riches to be found in the ruins surrounding it, but many never return from attempts to plunder the area. Some treasure hunters have sworn that something happened to the Eye while they were there, but none have been able to identify what caused it - whether it was the time of the year, the phase of the moon, or something stranger.
