Gates of Iron

Located in the north-eastern section of the Dustwall ringing the The Desert of Desolation, the Gates of Iron are a pass cutting through the mountain range. The pass gained the name after being used in antiquity by trade caravans bearing iron ore out of the desert. A fortification was built in the gorge by the Raurin Empire to protect its heartland, as the Dustwall provided few other areas where an army could easily cross. Both the fortification and the pass itself share the name.
