The Raurin Empire was founded five thousand years ago by the wizard-pharaoh Athis, when he created the magical wellspring known as the Fountain of Athis in the Raurin Desert. The empire became a hub of trade, culture, and civilisation, lasting for over four thousand years until a pharaoh's death-curse dried the well and the desert returned.
