Rawhn (Rorrn)
Rawhn is the mad god of ruin and destruction, rage, murder and conflict. As Rawhn continually strove to destroy everything the gods built as they created the world, eventually all the other gods worked together to bind Rawhn and cast him into an eternal prison. The prison became a hellscape that reflected Rawhn's inner nature, and in the eons since he has continually sought to escape from it and wreak his malice upon the world. Several dark cults serve Rawhn, convinced they will rise to power in the time of darkness and lawlessness which will follow his ascendancy. The most notable of these are the Order of the Sand Spider in the Raurin Desert area, and the Servants of Dusk.
The cults which serve Rawhn seek to destroy, pillage and slaughter for the joy of it. They will ally with marauders to advance their goals before betraying them in turn, such as when a cult allied with a hobgoblin army from Dhargul, building a secret entrance to Senarr Keep in an attempt to allow its destruction and the Barrens to revert to lawlessness. Rawhn's edicts encourage his followers to shrug off the chains of courtesy and civilisation, and devour the world around them in chaos and selfishness.
Paladins and clerics of Sunpyrion in particular will spare no effort to hunt down any trace of a Rawhnese cult and burn it out to the last cultist.
Alignment. Rawhn is Chaotic Evil, and his adherents follow suit in their self-centred lust for power and self-satisfaction at any cost.
Divine Domains
Rawhn's clerics are granted powers from the domains of War, Death, and Chaos. Due to Rawhn being sealed away by the other gods, most of his clerics only have access to spells up to third level, although warlocks sworn to Rawhn have full access to spells due to receiving them from powerful servitors of the dark god. However, the closer Rawhn is to breaking free, the more powerful the spells he is able to grant to his clerics. His cult uses this to gain an idea of how close they are to achieving their goals.
Portfolios. Rawhn holds the portfolios of Rage, Ruin, Destruction, Murder, and Brutal Conflict. His positive aspect is Freedom at any cost, which draws many potential worshippers.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Depiction. Few representations of Rawhn's form exist, as they are known to drive viewers insane, no matter how abstract they are; he is usually simply shown as a leering skull, crowned with a halo of eight iron spikes.
Tenets of Faith
COMMANDMENTS OF RAWHN
- Ruin. Ravage. Kill.
- The weak are unworthy and will be crushed by the strong. Be the strong.
- The only true laws are to to satisfy your desires, and to obey those stronger until you can supplant them.
Holidays
The cults in service of Rawhn celebrate his holy day on the winter solstice, at midnight on the longest night, usually falling on the twenty-first day of the last month of the year. They call it the Feast of the Wyld, a celebration of the Night of the Wyld when Rawhn breaks free and all laws and limits are removed, leaving only the strongest to survive and prosper by the might of their own hands. All cults celebrate by ritually destroying items of value to others, usually by throwing them into one-way portals to Rawhn's realm (the divine bindings on the realm allow portals into the realm, but do not allow anything to escape it). The greater the loss, the greater the boost in power Rawhn receives, such as the destruction of a decanter of endless water in a desert region. Many cults carry out human sacrifices, and some are rumoured to practice cannibalism in the Feast of the Wyld.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Rawhn's goals are to break free of the dimensional prison where the pantheon bound him, and to destroy everything which they have built, reducing all of creation to an ashen hellscape.
