Su-monsters (Soo)
A spirit creature resembling an enormous golden-furred ape with red hands, feet, and faces, Su-monsters are intelligent despite not having the vocal apparatus to speak Common. As they age, they continue to grow and become more and more peaceful, until Elder Su-monsters have reached Huge size and are practically pacifist unless pushed into action.
Despite their peaceful tendencies, enraged Su-monsters make terrifying opponents. Their psionic ability to stun opponents, together with prodigious strength and the ability to both claw and make enormous bites, means that only the strongest opponents have a chance of surviving combat with them, and then only in groups.
An enormous Elder ape served as the mascot for the Su Chi Academy in Bajapur, where the martial artists studied a style developed from the combat techniques of the Su monsters themselves. When the Pang Zhu realised that investigators from the House of Cats had traced the The Steel River to the Academy, where he had briefly studied, he threw a cursed ribbon at the great spirit ape. Sticking to its fur, the spells laid upon it enraged the ape. The creature abandoned the fruits and flowers which it normally focused upon, tore its way out of its enclosure as if the bars were tinfoil, and then attempted to lay waste to the Academy. Only the investigators' quick actions in defeating the cursed item prevented devastation and great loss of life amongst the students.
