Saliera

Symbiotic relationship with a strange coral that they bond to themselves

The coral eats dead skin and the Saliera prospers in that way   Mostly nonverbal among their own kind   Almost died out in a nascent stage due to over reliance on warfare   Have pets (weird landsquid dog things)   Have always been at the top of the food chain and so their body plan hasn’t changed much since the initial years   Secretly they were probably going to go extinct before they managed to reach the galactic stage due to stagnation but they were discovered by others first   Yay survival :)   Present in a fair number in every major galactic body   You know how many of them are in an area by how many of the children in school know how to do little “fin wiggles” with their hands
SALIERA TRAVELLER STATS Saliera are relatively common throughout space.   Saliera Travellers have the following stat modifiers: STR+1, END+1. Soc is rolled on a d3.   Saliera Travellers have the following species traits: CORAL CONSTRUCT: Saliera maintain a symbiotic relationship with their coral structures. These structures aid the Saliera on land. Saliera may take two non-movement actions during a combat round without penalty.   DEEP SEA DELVER: if submerged entirely in water, the Saliera gains a +1 to movement.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Saliera are large limbless serpentine or eel-like amphibians with a series of fins along their back and stalk end eyes. Saliera possess unique features that enable them to synch themselves with a variety of coral devices and technology additions which grant them enhanced mobility. Coral cradles are cared for incredibly seriously, with Saliera even risking being socially ostracized on core worlds if they allow their cradle to die. Accidents are understood, but neglect is certainly not.

Ecology and Habitats

Saliera originate from a planet with almost eighty percent water on its surface due to erosion and cataclysmic storms. The vast majority of Saliera society on core worlds is under the ocean.
