Vatto

• The tldr on these guys is that they’re essentially all two entities in one body Vaguely centauric in nature
• There are two parts of one Vatto: the “body” and the “watcher”. The Body is a centauric being that has its own autonomy and can achieve consensus with the “watcher” to allow it to take over the flesh. The “watcher” is a psionic brain worm that eventually fills in the Body’s brain entirely, and is unable to be removed at all. A nervous part of Vatto adolescence for both halves of the whole is the decision of bonding, which is keenly important.
• Their origin vaguely is because the Body entities were prey beasts, and the Watchers figured out how to slowly hone their natural abilities to speak with them. Together they uplifted into sentience. It’s weird but whatever!! The Watchers being present kept the Body entities from developing some things they likely otherwise would have.
• The Body and the Watcher apart are not considered individual beings. They are only regarded as Vatto when they come together.
• The brain worm Watcher is quite literally blind and senseless except for its mind unless it is in the mind of a Body entity. At that point, the Watcher can experience by proxy and can use its psionic ability. It experiences sensation as if its flesh is the Body’s, so on and so forth, if it wants to. At any point the Watcher can attain Consensus with the Body, and take over for a period of time.
