Did You Hear About The Wind Chime Creature?

Some legends say it can still be heard in the Pine Barrens, jangling away.

As far as experiments go, the wind chime robot was not one of my better ideas. The theory was, wind chimes can be spooky. If someone is already wound up, a little extra music coming out of the fog would be enough to make anyone twitchy. So I built something that had the chimes and the fog built in, and voila. Distraction machine.
Except for the part where Dulcie got a little bit of an attitude. Teensy bit of prima donna in her coding, I suppose. And then I got a bit distracted after a heist and didn't have the chance to grab her up on the way out. She was supposed to stay put. She didn't.
A/n: This whole project was an unmitigated disaster from the start, and I tried to warn her, but she didn't freaking listen.
I did eventually regain control of Dulcie and put her in an environment much more conducive to her overall survival in that she probably won't be hunted by terrified townsfolk and will instead periodically creep out thieves who try to steal from one of my stashes. But I am told there is now something of a story that has been post-dated to about two centuries ago.
A/n: Dulcie ranged all through several national parks because Ruby programmed her to enjoy nature. I'm not sure why. Quirks of personality tend to pop up all over the place where Ruby's creations are concerned. With the music, and her odd shape, and the fog machine that she dutifully refilled, people started to take notice.
Unfortunately, there were also a few murders in the area, and Dulcie's creep factor allowed the murderer to get away. Initially, anyway.
