Michael Halifax-Wilcox
Or, as he prefers, Mike, is one of the first people I met who allowed for the idea that adults could be cool. He did this while being an unapologetic dork, which made it all the better, because now I too am not afraid of being a dork.
To make a long and arduous story short (and also give myself some plausible deniability), he is a superhero who got his start as a member of Academics Club. He was one of the few who kept his powers secret from his family, which eventually led to some awkwardness but also probably stopped a whole lot of awkwardness in the short term. Probably.
He has the power to increase or decrease his own molecular density and, with some limitations, the molecular density of the things around him. This allows him to walk through walls, become light enough to float, or conversely become extremely heavy.
Mike was one of the graduates of the AC program not to formally go into superheroing, instead using his powers in a more subtle way. He used his connections to research and explore superpowers in others. Having met him, this choice also allowed him to travel the world and explore. Of all the people I know, he's the most likely to fly off into space and never return, and not just because he died in five minutes.
He developed something of a rivalry with the villain Vortex. Stuff happened, El Pintor became a problem, Mike and Vortex had to be pulled forward in time five years, they popped out right on schedule once the proper device to pull them forward was completed, and the next day they defeated El Pintor together and everything was fine and there were no problems.
E/N: Yes, in case you were wondering, Ruby Gray was the one to do the time travel stuff. It almost counted as a good idea, too.
