Colonel Shore

Enlisted in Emberly Army for the Second World Campaign, Colonel Shore had his identity classified after joining the 5th Regiment. He partook in numerous missions against National Despots, gaining the title of colonel after the conflict was over.   Later in life he would lead troops into the Small Wars, from 1961 to 1966, when he was moved to training duties. His role as an instructor would only last one year and a half, ended by his sudden death. His missions and history have remained classified to this day, including his work as a instructor and the associates. Reports from the Second Campaign have been used to prove his association to the original HOARD, specially the hero Isaphiel.   His funeral was a public event in the capital Emberia. It was attended by governors, actors, musicians, celebrities of all sorts, philanthropists, presidents and representatives of many nations. Even the Empress of Korshia, despite the tumultuous political relations between Korshia and Emberly, joined the celebration and mourning of the fallen hero.   The parade and public event in his tribute, that followed the ceremony, would be declared national holiday. A few years later, the annual Honor & Heroism Gala for heroes and veterans would occur in that same date.

Powers

Colonel Shore was a notorious unwielding powerhouse, capable of throwing cars and tanks, as well as withstand mortar shots with barely any damage. Additionaly, his enhanced senses were harnessed and trained to make him an above average sharpshooter, and a dangerous infantry soldier even when fighting enemies of similar strength.

Legacy

During life Colonel Shore inspired many to take the cape and become heroes, as well as villains. Allman was one hero inspired by his many good deeds, starting his career a few years before the colonel's demise and was a hopeful sucessor to the powerhouse. However, Allman slowly turned to villany from his bitter rivalry with the actual successor of the Colonel, Admiral. One year after the colonel's death, Admiral made his debut and took the mantle of Symbol of Emberly, Paragon of Heroism.   Even after that, powerhouses and defense focused heroes often use Colonel Shore as an example and a goal for their own path in heroism. Interviews often see individuals, such as the HOARD hero Juniper saying they would be the shield of humanity in similarity to the colonel's role.

Hero, superhero or just a soldier?

Since early 1970, discussions began about the usage of the word hero to describe the colonel. Even if considering his legacy, the fact that he was largely a member of the Emberly Army and did not act independently is a point of these discussions. Some argue he is an war hero, not a superhero, given his role in the Second Campaign and in the Small Wars, like others in the same conflict.   The consensus has been to classify the colonel as a soldier hero, in manners as a reference to the mercenary superheroes such as the members of the HOARD. A minor part of superhero and Colonel Shore's fans still argue that he was a superhero for his character and personality as well as his actions.   Superian-excludent movements have taken to discredit all homo superia's, and by extention his, role in conflicts and war. Aguing they were simple soldiers and heroic action that was only possible because of powers don't have the same value as "an actual human's sacrifice".
