The Auguries of the Divine

Little is known about the start of the Auguries save that they originated in the lost world of Zadura. It is generally agreed that the cards were introduced by the elvish prophet Minuvae Beicaryn roughly 3,000 years before the opening of the Portal. Now the cards are used in both religious ceremonies and every-day life.

Mythology & Lore

With how many different races the originated on the world of Zadura, all of their different gods were brought together when the Auguries were created.

Tenets of Faith

Each god has their own group of followers with their own set of rules. However, it is generally understood that each god is part of the whole. Prior to the Demon War, there may have been conflict between the different groups of followers, but since the Calamity those conflicts have all but disappeared.

Worship

Worship can take place in temples, often located in every major city. In minor towns or settlements, however, most of the faithful worship at shrines set up in the village center or town hall.
Most individuals carry some representation of their god or goddess in the form of decorated "cards." These cards can be as simple as an ink drawing on paper or as complicated as a highly detailed mosaic carved into silver and mithril. Generally people will carry one to two cards, depending on which god they view as most appropriate to their beliefs.

Sects

The best-known sect of the Auguries is the The Order of Light, run by her holiness, Hierophant Katar IV.
