Pasapa River
Geography
Starting up in the mountains and hills dotting the whole northern border of Depavata, the river Pasapa runs through the whole country until it meets the sea in the south. The river has been a source of life through all of time, some even say that the first ever civilisations started here. The main river cuts like a huge scar through the landscape, gaining more and more in size with each little stream that comes down from the mountains to join it.
Much have been written about the beauty of the water, it is a common source of inspiration for artists of all kinds and the inhabitants of Depavata are very proud of their river.
It is also here that most of the people of Depavata live. The river is calm enough most of the time that it is an excellent way of transport, something that can otherwise be difficult in the dense jungles that grows around it. A lot of the people build their homes raised on poles above the water and the capital is also located on the river.
Fauna & Flora
The river gives water to most of the land around it, and combined with the plentiful rains it makes it extremely lush. The tropical forests around the river are filled with different species of all kinds, from the huge trees that reach for the sky, to the tiniest moss creeping around it's roots, from the elusive Pasapa deer to the song birds that zip along the water line. A huge variety of plants and animals make their home here, along with the people, and the abundance of life has always drawn people here with the promise of food and an easy life.
