The White Rose Guard

The White Rose Guard, or simply, The Rose Guard, is the personal security of the Filt Family. There are always twelve Rose Guards. The induction process to the guard is a highly kept secret, along with their training and background. Because of this, all identities of the guard are unknown. Many rumors have been fielded, ranging from claiming the Rose Guard is warforged, to bastard sons of the Filt family, to undead reanimated from the original Rose Guard. As a part of their oath, the Rose Guard have their helms and masks magically fused with their heads, making them unremovable even with death. Their armor is made entirely of gilded porcelain and enchanted to acquire its metal-like toughness. Each of their swords is their prized possession and has a golden rose attached to the base of the pommel. Each set of Rose Guard equipment costs a small fortune, so much so the Filt family is known to have taken out loans with the armor and swords as collateral.
