Tiamat and Bahamut's animosity

Summary

During the very first days of the world's creation, two families of dragons came into being: Bahamut, the noble Platinum Dragon, made the metallic dragons- gold, silver, bronze, brass and copper. Cruel, five-headed Tiamat made the chromatic dragons- red, blue, green, black and white. According to legend, the animosity that originated between Bahamut and Tiamat resulted in the mutual animosity shared between all metalic and chromatic dragons

Spread

This myth and the effects thereof are wide spread amongst most.

Variations & Mutation

There are several variations on the relation between Tiamat and Bahamut, ranging from siblings to spouses, but the a universal truth is not known.

Cultural Reception

The legend it self is mostly only significant to followers of either dragons or those from dragonkind/ scholars. The implications of the myth, however, are wildly more applicable as most people know to respect( and fear in a reasonable amount) the metallic colours and to dread the chromatic.
