Initiation to the Brotherhood
To become a master in The Order of the Bloodknights the prospect first needs to survive about four years as an apprentice, learning from the masters and helping them on their quests. After he has learned enough to hunt monsters by himself, the masters usually pick out a few quests for the youngling to go on. Afterwards, if the masters feel the apprentice is ready to become a master, the grandmaster of the brotherhood performs the initiation ceremony.
The Ceremony
The soon to be master kneels topless before the Grandmaster of the Brotherhood near the fountain of blood in the Sanctuary of Blood. After vowing for a second time to obey the order and to live the hunt, the apprentice is marked with the second part of his branding, another drop of blood and two arrows connecting both of the drops in a circle. Afterwards the other masters, standing in a circle around the Grandmaster, start chanting the name of the apprentice. This goes on for a few minutes, becoming louder and louder. Then, something magical awakes in the fountain. The blood forms a hand, reaches out to touch the apprentice and draws a circle on his forehead. The red circle begins to glow, at first only with dim light but soon its strong enough to blind all the bystanders. After a few seconds, the light fades, and so does the blood circle on the forehead of the newest master of the order.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
