The Hidden Guild of Uyor
The hidden guild of Uyor once formed as a circle of mages of the Holy Order of Ras striving for great power and fame. Soon they started to worship the god of war, Uyor, and began to collect mighty artifacts and old knowledge. Before long they gained more followers and influence in the holy order, but were noticed for their harsh methods and their disregard for non gifted people. The leaders of the order came together and formed a plan to kill the most powerful of the rogue sorcerers and to expel the rest of them. After a quick and bloody fight, it is believed that the circle of dark magicians was disbanded. But unknown to the Holy Order of Ras, and the rest of Tal'Lyra, the few survivors built themselves a new home in Rashor.
The Search for Knowledge
Hidden from the rest of the continent, the small hidden guild continued their search for powerful knowledge and artifacts of the old days. One of them, after staying in Tam for a while, noticed the weird knights staying in the town and started to investigate. Although the locals couldn't say anything about the visiting warriors and their ways, it didn't stop the sorcerer from trying to gain information through torture and fear. Only now, to protect the people of their town, some masters of The Order of the Bloodknights, showed themselves and attacked the magician. Even though they outnumbered their foe, he killed two of them with the help of some powerful relics and escaped afterwards with the body of one of them. After he told his brothers of the weird spells used by the knights, the interest of the guild sparked and they started to gather more knowledge about their foes. Connecting the dots from old tales about the Bloodknights, the sorcerers now wanted to gain that power for themselves. For the next few hundred years, they fought a few of the mysterious knights, but were never able to capture one alive. Only after one of them, Rekas, disguised as a member of the Holy Order of Ras, learned of three of the knights being in Eastport, they were successful in abducting some of their foes. But still, not even with the most creative interrogation methods and long planned experiments, they still learned nothing of the weird Bloodmagic the knights are using.A Deal with Uyor
Being defeated in their quest for the mysterious magic, they decided to set on a different path of getting power for themselves. Remembering their old ways and the worship of the god of war, the guild tried to turn to Uyor. But for them, the priests in Rashor strayed to far from the old teaching and could not be of help. So they set out to search for an old altar of the god. Deep in The Blowing Swamp, an old altar, probably left behind by the Windsong Rebellion was found. With powerful magic and old rituals, they summoned a incarnation of Uyor and stroke a deal with him. The god of war taught them a more primal, more dangerous way of casting spells and in return they promised to continue their search for knowledge in the name of Uyor. With their newly acquired power, the sorcerers now learned to create new and to modify old spells, even in the heat of battle. Not bound anymore by the old spellbooks of the Holy Order of Ras, their magic soon turned more cruel and dark. The Situation Today
After learning and training their new found power, the hidden guild set out onto new goals. The first of those was to infiltrate the Holy Order of Ras, to finally get their revenge for the purging of the first circle of sorcerers. While they themselves could not join the ranks of the order, the sorcerers corrupted some new, aspiring wizards of Ras. While the Uyors followers did not show themselves yet, some of the most influential wizards in the order work for them and help the hidden guild in its cause. At the same time, they continued their search for the knights of Tam, who the sorcerers saw use a hidden kind of bloodmagic. Although they couldn't find more of the foes, they believe the knights cause is to hunt the old monsters of Tal'Lyra. So they wait for one of their targets on the hunt to show himself. Intrigued by the tales of the immortal dwarven king Merlon, the rogue wizards also set out on a quest to learn from the druids of the north. But this search also turned out to be harder than thought, because while they found many druids in the wilds, they were fierce in battle and killed some of the attacking sorcerers. Only recently, the hidden guild succeeded in capturing a few careless druids. And so the torture and experiments started again, all for more knowledge and power.
