The Tale of the Burning Druid
The Tale of the burning druid is an old dwarven story told to the lyrian children. It warns about the dangers of seeking to much power and of using magic for evil. It tells a story about the tragic life of a hard working dwarf, who lived on the slopes of the Endless Mountains. Being tormented by the cold winds every winter, he told himself that he needs to change the fate of his family. So the set out on a long journey to learn how to control the fire and how to provide warmth to his family. He traveled from druid to druid, trying to learn their secrets about fire rituals and how to extract enough power from the stone of the mountain to change the weather. After many years, he thought he succeeded and that he now knew enough to give his family a better life . He returned home, only to find that both his wife and two children died in the last winter, not being able to feed themselves without his help. In his rage, he went into the cold storm outside and tried to challenge the spirits of the cold with his magic. Chanting his songs for his ritual for three days, he finally could harvest the power of the mountains. But little did he know, the winds are as fierce as the magic of a druid and they blew the fire right back at him, setting him on fire. So he died a painful dead, all alone and with the certainty, that even with all his power, he couldn't change the fates.
