Personal history

Babak was the youngest son of the Lorestani family and was considered by his parents to be a back up of a back up. Being at the bottom rung of twelve brothers left Babak with a degree of freedom that was unexpected but not unwelcome. Babak took up the study of sorcerery and swordplay learning to blend arcane power with the dancing blade of his scimitar. He soon became infamous for settling problems with duels and earning coin as a mercenary and adventurer.
His family still more interested in his older brothers barely acknowledged his proclivity towards violence or his rapidly growing personal wealth. It was after a particularly lucretaive adventure to slay a powerful demon of the desert that Babak would make his move by shaming his brothers with enough coin to buy the families way into the Merchant Princes. Unable to deny him and many unwilling to cross the dueling happy magus Babak became the master of his older brothers and the family who had ignored him.
His life as a warrior-mage and time spent as a mercenary have left Babak a cagey man with a understanding of steel and the sorcerers art in equal measure. His tendency for dueling and violence often frighten people to compliance however there is rumors that he has intentional started rumors of his aggressive problem solving methods and that his hard as nails little value on life attitude is a carefully cultivated public persona meant to hide a cunning tactically talented mind and shrewd schemer.
