Prompt 4: 4. Enchant, The Wish-Crafters

A guild of fey who can grant you what your heart desires, for a price.

Structure

The Wish-Crafters is first and foremost a buisness, a guild and is organized based on merchants and crafters with merchants barking wares, finding customers, aquiring rare goods and otherwise providing most of the leg work. Its crafters are artists who weave enchantments, make arangements or in some cases manipulate the tapestry of fate itself to ensure the customer is give what they ask for.   Further divided by power, wealth and skill ranks are based on a collection of factors that are difficult to comprehend for non-fey and seem to change and shift at the whims of the guilds leadership. The only constant being the seat of power of Azalea Spidersage who many of the guild treat with the same admiration given to a Crowned Faerie.

Culture

Unmistakably Fey the WIsh-Crafters abide by the strange rules that govern much of their kind, nothing is ever given with expectation of an equal payment, if a deal is sworn three times it is forever binding, and any debt left unpaid will result in a Faerie curse upon the person who dared to try and cheat them.   The Wish-Crafts it should be noted are not malicious nor do they necessary seek to harm mortals, they are always true to their promises (After a fashion) and they are just as likely to help champions of good as they are paragons of evil with equal measure. Stories may abound of fey trickery and prices that were to high but always must the mortal agree to the deal and no lie is ever spoken about the price nor product offered. This transparency is often what separates them from the conniving lords of the Faerie realms and shady independent merchants who work the stalls of the Goblin Markets.

Public Agenda

The agenda of the Wish-Crafters is fairly transparent, they offer magic to those who crave it at a price. While they do peddle in mundane magical items and ends their specialty is unique enchantments, granting strange wishs and hearts desires not normaly sold at any kind of market anywhere in the world. What they ask for in return are payments as strange and esoteric as the enchantments they offer. The prices seem chaotic, down right random and they change on the whims of the Gobline merchants and Sidhe Spellcasters offering them. One day they might trade away the crown of a king for a maidens first kiss, another the cost of curing infertility might be the fostering of a fey child. Favors are often a favorite payment and the cagey fey will often try and keep payments vague and open ended. The deals however are always a fair trade, at least from the perspective of the Faeries.

Assets

Backed by some of the most power spellcasters and wealthy faeries from the strange dimension they call home the The Wish-Crafters may not have created the Goblin Markets but they have a heafty amount of clout among the Faeries who use them to wheel and deal across the multiverse. The resources of the Wish-Crafters seem infinite to most as their enchanters have been noted as preforming god like magic that breaks or bends conventional understanding of magical limitations. However this is countered by the fact they only seem to be able to wield such power if it is used in exchange for payment from mortals. The vast bulk of their enterprise is notably not reality alteration but in the making of strange and quirky magical items (often cursed in some ironic fashion) that dominate the sales at the Goblin Markets.

History

The Goblin Markets themselves are an old concept among the Faeries, created not long after it was discovered that making deals with mortals was amusing and was a way for fey to earn power the first sprang up tended to by the Fey Goblins acting as the primary operators with Sidhe Nobles raking in the bulk of what passed for currency and passing it on to the Faerie lords and ladies.   A number of Goblins and Sidhe grew disatisifed of the Faerie Kings and Queens taking the lions share of their hard work and so the powerful Sidhe Sorcereress Azalea Spidersage created the Wish-Crafters. Rather then relying on the god like power of the Faerie Kings and Queens her guild would draw on the talent of the Fey Goblins, Sidhe and various lesser fey in their employ with the wealth being taken by their guild and distributed among its membership. Over the eons this has drawn many fey eager to seek personal power and gain and drawn the ire of the loyal agents of the Faerie Courts who have much to their annoyance even found themselves in debt to the Wishcrafters as their growing power and prestige has came to rival that of any Faerie court. Some even refering to Azalea Spidersage as the Queen of the Goblin Market for surely her power rivals even the most powerful of the Crowned Faeries.

"All magic has a price are you willing to pay it?"

In the border lands of the Faerie realm where spring and Autumn eternal rule the guild hall of the Wish-Crafters stands and they say by way of strange magics it is never far from any of the Goblin Markets anywhere in the Multiverse.   Art by Midjourny
