Rodents of the Night below

Mammals are far less common in the night below with the exception of bats and rodents who have adapted and proven very successful in its biomes.   Glowtail Foragers: These rodents have developed bioluminescent tails that serve as both a source of light and a means of communication. They use their glowing tails to locate food and signal to others.   Mycelium Diggers: Mycelium-rich environments have led to the evolution of rodents that use their sharp claws to dig through fungal layers for hidden insects and nutrients. They have a specialized diet and strong forelimbs for excavating.   Crystal Whisker Sentinels: Adapted to Crystal Forests, these rodents have long, sensitive whiskers that can detect even the faintest vibrations in the crystal structures. This helps them avoid predators and locate prey.   Stone Chewers: In regions with mineral-rich soil, some rodents have evolved teeth capable of grinding stone to extract essential minerals. They have a diet that consists of both minerals and organic matter.   Echoing Squeakers: These rodents communicate using a series of high-pitched, echoing vocalizations that can travel through tunnels. They have evolved intricate vocal patterns to convey information to their colonies.
