Born of Sorrow and Vengence
When the undead dragon Ecress and her armies of ghouls attacked the elven empire of durring the age of the golden alliance one of the first great casualties was the Te'ra Alflar city of Elden Vale. The onslaught was nightmarish and none were spared, their bodies used to fuel black magic and the hunger of ghoul legions. The villages high druid Vas had not been present when his family, friends and home had been laid waste by the suprise attack. He had been deep in the wilds in communion with the spirit realm. When he returned home he found all that he had known blighted, decayed and seperated from nature. Vas was gripped by mighty sorrow and a need for justice that would consume him.
Vas would dedicate the next decades of his life to the war against Ecress and her ghouls calling up nature to defend itself from the undead blight awakening trees to walk, lighting to fill stormy skies as it lay low undead armies and fire to roar up from the earth in angry swathes. Vas became natures champion and the tool of her revenge upon the unnatural blight of the undead. When at last the golden alliance defeated Ecress and scattered her ghoul armies to the winds Vas permitted himself to rest or would have had not his survivors guilt consumed him so. Unable to find peace knowing the village had once been the religious guide of had been separated from nature. Unable to come to terms with his failure and loss Vas took it upon himself to restore what was lost even if it cost him his own life.
Vas would trade his magic, his life and his very being away as payment for a ritual of great power, unable to restore the blighted dead he would reincarnate the spirits of the elves of Elden Vale but he would shape new bodies for them grown from nature and shaped in the likeness of elves.
