Mythology & Lore

he Storm, Sea, Stone and Cinder, Air, Water, Earth and Fire these forces have always held power in the Rainbow Archipelago and its people have long understood that these natural forces are to be respected and in some cases feared. Fear became especially close to the heart of the people when during time of the first people Four Primordial Elemental beings spread wanton chaos and destruction in their wake. The people suffered greatly and the strongest shamans embarked on a journey to the dream world to seek the Rainbow Serpent for her wisdom. He answered the shamans and agreed that the Primal Elemental beings were causing havoc and disrupting the balance. After much consideration it was decided that the primal elementals were too alien and other worldly to easily understand and they had to be brought to a more manageable nature. It was decided that something had to be done and that something was grim but necessary choice.   From four tribes they would choose one woman to embodied virtue and wisdom and was willing to sacrifice herself for her people. These woman would come to be refered to as the Primal Princesses. Four rituals would be enacted and the four women sacrificed to a Primal Elemental being. However the shamans who had offered them to the Primal Spirits had tricked them and the ritual caused the sacrificed womens spirits to merge with the Primals transforming them into the Four Elemental Goddesses of the Many Islands.
