Wizards Beard Barnacle

One of the most successful of the multi-cellular generalist animancantio lifeforms can still be found today much unchanged from examples discovered in the fossil record is a barnacle like life form commonly referred to as Wizards Beard. This common name comes from that Wizards-Beard extends long feathered fibrous stems for feeding and breeding that are grey to the naked eye but glow with bioluminescent energy under magic that can see into the arcane spectrum of energy. In large colonies these fuzzy barnacles can resembles an immense matted beard and the fact some cling to whales, megafauna and boats give rise to many local stories about wizened whales, fuzzy fish and bearded boats.
