The Continent of Sykan is composed of two giant landmasses: Tyral (left) and Edria (right). The two landmasses, despite their close proximity are very different in their development. They very rarely communicate with one another, as they each have their own problems, so they focus on themselves for the most part. Tyral is the bigger of the two landmasses. Tyral is a landmass covered in roving centaurs, vying for power of the Quazill Horsemen. Out of the periphery of Tymal a bunch of states struggle for power against the hundreds of thousands of centaur brigands. States like the Grimdallian Empire and the Kingdom of Steamia have a bitter rivalry, always trying to get the one up on one another. In the northern corner of Tyral, the Sildian Republic, the Holy State of Charma and the Dulkhan Merchant Commonwealth have to successfully pay tithes to the Quazill in order to ensure their cities aren’t razed to the ground. And finally, the Principality of Dazilstan, Nulunsran and Ehircikstan all attempt to try and compete with one another to control the contested title of the Empire of the Land. The second landmass is Edira. Edira is home to two localized powers, the Edrian Empire and the Saradidian Union. The two entities are attempting to vie for the island and display complete control over the other. Edrian, an Empire of Elves has created a handful of Grand Protectorates, as to not overextend themselves, as well as a way to expel minorities out of their country to ensure Elven dominance. These states are Talarin, Hauls and Diadri. The Saradidian Union is home to the Goblinoids, Bugbears, and those deemed as “Monsterous Folk”. They have conflicted with the Elven Empire of Edira for centuries as their war becomes stagnant. The Continent is diverse with people of all kinds, and conflict of all kinds as well. With conflicts simmering, all it takes is one stone to be thrown into the lake to lead to a ripple effect across the whole continent.
