Dragonborn

Dragonborn tend to be self-reliant to a near fault. Culturally, they do not like asking for help. If necessary, they will seek the aid of other Dragonborn. In general, Dragonborn prefer to live in their own communities, rarely mixing with others outside their clan group.
There are a few exceptions. The Dragonborn that live in Jeorta, for example, have assimilated and taken on many of the human cultural markers of those they live with.

Naming Traditions

The naming convention for Dragonborns is to put the family name first and the personal name second, to reflect the order of importance.
Dragonborn names are notoriously challenging to spell, especially since there is no direct translation into Common. They are often a series of growling and hissing sounds that non-dragonborn struggle to imitate. Rather than suffering the indignities of listening to their names improperly pronounced, many dragonborn that live in mixed communities take an additional name that is possible for the neighbors to pronounce.

Clan Names - Yarjeit, Kerrhylon, Raghthroknarr, Essterlynn
Female Names - Gilkass, Mishanannna, Synthyrin, Poranix
Male Names - Dazzazn, Gheshundus, Patrin, Shamash, Srorthem

Common Myths and Legends

Dragonic bloodlines come about one of two ways. Either they are created by one of the Gods, or they are the blood of dragons themselves. Most likely, they began as genetic mutations from true draconic bloodlines.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

While not openly hostile, most Dragonborn do not have any wish to interact with neighbors who are not clan members.
The notable exception would be the Dragonborn of Jeorta.

Some Dragonborn choose to mark their body with brands on their scales. To those with flesh, this sounds excruciating, but Dragonborns claim it is no different than when a human gets a tattoo.
