Water Sprites in most of their lives in their native element. Occasionally they can be found in caves along the coastline. There are several places in the Adelaide Islands where they enter the keys with the tide is high and become marooned there when the tide goes out again. They are wild creatures that are incredibly challenging to capture, and they resist captivity with every fiber of their being.

While submerged they are nearly indistinguishable from the water around them, them but when cut off from a large enough water source it is possible to see them more clearly. They have a humanoid torso and a cluster of tentacles below the waist they used to move. They are small; the largest documented was a mere 7 inches tall.

Little is known about their social structure or natural habitat. They are able to communicate language, but even when faced with someone in their language they are reluctant to do so.

Tears of the Water Sprite are used in some magical rituals. They are incredibly challenging to collect, and are rarely available.
