Gearbox of Levitation

A gearbox of levitation is an ancient, magical device capable of manipulating gravity. It is an orange 4-inch cube with several gears pressed against its surface. While a person is holding one, they can rotate the gears to lift them into the air and move around. It can also be attached to a large object to extend the anti-gravity properties upon it, such as with a skyship.

They magically cancel the effects of gravity of not only themselves, but also anything they touch. The controls upon it allow its user to freely move through the air like a ship through the sea. Their speed is bounded, but combining multiple gearboxes allow them to move even faster.

History

The gearboxes were discovered on 3 Hammer 855 by the Department of Discovery during Rilitar Glyntoris's expedition to an ancient underground ruin within the Inferno Peaks. By 30 Tarsakh 855, the first skyship was built.
