Sylvania
The planet of Sylvania is a moderate fantasy setting composed of strange lands, dangerous creatures, and sprawling civilizations. Created by a pantheon of deities familiar to Forgotten Realms, Sylvania is host to all sorts of life, magic, and wonder.
History
Long ago, the world was populated only by lesser forms of life — plants, beasts, primitive monsters. It is unknown how long this period lasted, as history only goes back as far as the first intelligent race, the elves. Over time, more and more races began to appear in Sylvania. Many of them found themselves a place to make their home, a few proceeded to dominate the others, and some were unable to survive at all. Eventually, humans entered the world. By far, they were the most adaptable and ambitious among the races, which led to them spreading throughout the entire world. It wasn’t through just war — though that did play no small part — but also by assimilating themselves among the others. Entire single-race civilizations began accepting humans into their population, as they were often well-aligned and generally unthreatening. Inversely, human lands ended up hosting the most diverse civilizations across Sylvania. Since then, many of the common races became more open with each other and starting living side by side. Eventually, wars and conflict became less between race, and more between nations and territories. These drastic changes throughout the world happened very quickly, as it’s been less than nine hundred years since the spawn of humans. Lesser races have still been joining the world, but with nowhere near as much marvel. Many believe that the current age, the Age of Humanity, shall be the final age worth defining, and that nothing can cause such a drastic shift ever again.Known Eras
