The Cherian Order

Its name means "The Order of the Hands"

Thought to be disbanded after they helped Fos ascend to godhood, they actually became secretive as they now were believed to be a path to godhood. The two hands of the order were added to the symbol of the Light god when Fos became it's head.

There is a ritual that one takes to become part of the order. It involves a devotion of intent to Fos, meditation, a brand heated by the sun with a special stamp (known as the Cherian Stamp), and inhalation of smoke from special burned herbs. The stamp location is chosen by the wearer.

Although the stamp itself is only the sphere, either hand may appear in the process. These who get hands are the chosen of Fos and will be welcomed into the respective branch. Those with the right hand join Dexiá, those with the left join Aristerá. Getting a hand is a very rare feat. Even rarer is the formation of two. These chosen are named Fostós, meaning 'Of Fos'. Once in a generation this may occur, if at all. These people are destined to do great deeds and often are elected leaders of the Order.

In the Order, there are two main branches: Dexiá and Aristerá.

Dexiá
Symbolised by the right hand, home to the warriors of the order. Sworn to defend the weak and to aid those who need it. To be the righteous blade that smites all that would do harm to this world.

Aristerá
Symbolised by the left hand, home to the healers of the order. Sworn to be the light to those in the dark. To be the bandage to those who need it.
